Devonte Albert Duck, age 18, of Erie, passed away on October 14, 2013.

Born in Erie on February 22, 1995 the son of Lamona Jones Hubbart and Earnest M. Duck both of Erie.

Devonte was a 2013 graduate of Central Tech High School.

He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends laughing and joking around and playing Xbox. His favorite football team was the Minnesota Vikings and he enjoyed playing baskeball. He had an affectionate smile along with his big heart and was always wanting to help everyone.(Except the guy who he was trying to rob).

Did the homeowner have a duck stamp on his hunting license? If not, Edgar might sue for wrongful death.

Devonte was a good kid. He was a good friend of mine. Give him a break....in this Obama economy he couldn't find no work so he died doing what he loved.

Devonte forgot to DUCK.
Notice the obit never mentioned employment, but he did leave behind a child who no doubt collect some sort of SSI until they reach the age of 18.

Home invasion is a death penalty case!

Sad enough this could be a story from all 50 states! A whole new generation of idiots!

A cpl. of high profile cases have come up in middle America ,when do we have the right to shoot?
who says when we feel safe? I have a yield sign on my front door & a STOP! sign on my back door with motion spot lights ,the msg. is VERY CLEAR!
I have been tested twice on this,I knew the people, more of a domestic situation, but I was still in fear, the people were trying to enter & were making threats,I used a shot gun to MAKE THEM LEAVE! I held one ,the other left & both were arrested.
BUT the fine letter of the law is IF I would have fired ,would I have had the right to defend myself?
I was not charged,BUT have never received a clear answer from anyone concerning this.
It pays to know he laws in your area concerning defense. Rick Wichita Ks.

I voted for him 3 times in each election. These young boys are being unfairly criticized. They are the future and "Hope" that our beloved President Obama is talking about.

You mean the chimp community doesn't rally around children like this help them? LMAO
Homeowners arm yourself and stop home invasions. Chimps are out of control. They realize their life sucks even after their Boy was elected president
