Young professionals square off for 3rd District House seat

Jason Owen defeated Regina Smith in the Republican primary, while Ryan Bizzarro was unopposed in the Democratic primary.

Bizzarro was unopposed in the democratic primary because nobody knew Hornaman was retiring. He announced his retirement a few days before the nominating petition deadline and Bizzarro already had over 1000 signatures.

This shady move shut to door on any political challengers and was a dirty trick that has enraged democrats in the 3rd district. Voters do not like the idea of rigging elections and insider favors. This is the wrong way to operate. The people in the 3rd district deserve better than this.

I voted for Hornaman many times because I thought he was honorable, but I was wrong.

its called playing the game loser. learn the rules. again, no democrats care about this. there are fake republicans pretending to be dems on topix saying they are really upset - but NOT ONE will put their real name on this NON-ISSUE.

Bizzarro is such a horrible candidate. I got all of his mailers about Owen cutting education spending, siding with Corbett, and campaign finance allegations. I followed each footnote on the mailer - he was never mentioned in any campaign finance on the website, he was never in the PA House to vote on cuts to funding, and I watched the Erie Reader debate where he said he would fight for education funding. Not only did Bizzarro lie once or twice, but it was multiple times. He is as bad as Janet Anderson and her negative ads. I vote across party lines and I vote for the truth! Bizzarro will never get my vote.

I'm pretty sure everybody in Erie knows about the Bizzarros. Sometimes name recognition can be a good thing but in this case, no so much.
