I agree that everyone should boycott all the enterprises of Nick Sleaseball Scott. He wants Erie residents to sign a petition to prevent the other hotel being built. Hasn't"t he owned his property for quite awhile now. Why didn't he build before now. I have boycotted everything he owns for years because he I and his family are such pathetic people.

Q: How many grants and tax breaks did Scott receive to build Splash Lagoon, his hotels, and/or his restaurants?

A: ZERO.

I'm no fan of the Scotts, but Nick has never asked for anything before and he has allowed thousands of people to park on his property for free on the bayfront for years.

Richards has helped himself to generous tax breaks (KOZ) at Sunburst Electronics and at his over the top mansion in Frontier. Not to mention all the secret deals for GAF and handouts from his old pal Arlen Specter.

Let Scott roll the dice on his hotel and give the taxpayers a break for a change.

Roll the Dice ?? This isn't free enterprise where anyone can buy and build. This is ERIE, home of the special secret deal.

Don't you think that a lot of hotel developers would want to build on the Erie Bayfront ??

They know that they won't get a fair chance, so they don't try.

Legal Corruption....... That's the way that Erie works.

Give the taxpayers a break. Where do you think the grant money came from in the 1st place? The state cut all of the social service money last year to help the real people in need & now they are going to give the Scotts millions of dollars to build a hotel that only they reap the rewards of by lining their pockets. I know, they are creating jobs...blah, blah, blah. Minimum wage with no benefits. Greedy bastards.

If you are going to make a statement calling someone dumb, at least spell "THE" correctly. Erie is also a proper noun thus should have a capitol "E", dumb ass

I agree. A developer a few years ago wanted to build a glass pyramid with an indoor beach, restuarants and acquarium on the Bayfront based on existing one that has been a very depresssed city that has been sucessful for the last 20 years, employes about 1000 people and has 2 million visitors per year.

They got no assitance whatsoever from the Mayor and his economic development buddies and the visitors and convention people. Not one of them even wanted to check out a sucessful venture.

Now you have a hotel on the water with no place for convention visitors to go. Bafoonery at its finest.

Yeah. He ought to keep his duff up on Peach Street or up on the "Peak". See he has his empty flop Steak n Shake in Meadville for sale. I bet there is a clause in the realtor contract though. No restaurant allowed I'm sure.

He wants to build now since he is seeing all them $$$$$ from the downtown events going to somebody else.
