What is this Sandberg doing? Applying for MORE MONEY for Perry Square. If anybody in the Sinnott administration actually lived in Erie and got the outrageous tax bills from the city maybe they'd try to create some jobs.

Enough with wasting money on Perry Square. The last $2 million they blew on that useless park didn't create any jobs in Erie or spur any other investment. A total waste of money. I guess Occupy needs a nicer gazebo.

Last time Nick Scott was to receive a taxpayer handout through the RACP program he bristled at the idea of paying prevailing wage. That's the main reason he didn't move forward. I would rather guarantee a loan than give taxpayer money to a private developer. I know... Richards or Scott. Who's the bigger pr*ck?

But that's what it comes down to in Erie.

Neither project has really been discussed with the public. There have been zero public meetings, but that's the Sinnott way. Decisions behind closed doors. No transparency.
Sinnot ain't going to cross his overlord Richards.

Look for city council to try to be relevant by using some Bagnoni/Thompson style grandstanding. Same with county council. Horton and Jones will curry favor for their votes.

Prediction: Erie will lose no matter what happens.

25 million for government hotel, 12 million gift to nick scott, 1 million gift to GE, tax beaks to every elitist group , rich developers, non profits etc, but the state is so broke curt sonney and the gop votes to raise the gas tax to the highest rate in the country. has anyone seen nick scotts private luxury liner docked at the erie yacht club? he should sell this boat if he cant afford to build another hotel. that boat is worth at least 6 million. these grants ,tax breaks and non profits are completly out of control. is there a single politicion out there that will say no to these taxpayer funded handouts? i think there was one at one time , i cant remember his name. was it beemen something?

I am proud to have Joe Sinnot as a fellow democrap. Like his fellow democraps, he is gleefully running the city and county into the ground.

It looks like the Scott family believes in Free Enterprise, i.e. millions in Government Redevelopment Money should go to them (only)

I agree with the previous poster : " Boycott Scott Enterprises Businesses".

I disagree with the previous post.

Putting up a performance bond for a public project is standard procedure, and the cost is minimal.

This bond is required because in the (unlikely) event of a default, the lending bank cannot repossess the public land.

EVERY public or municipal project uses this sort of bond - the cost is low and the risk is low.

IMHO, Scott Enterprises is using the performance bond as a PHONY issue - with the full assistance of the butt kissing drones at WJET and WFXP...

Again, Nick Scott appears to think that any Development Money should go ONLY TO HIM..... I hope that Erie County Council is not that stupid.

<quoted text> I disagree with your post. The redevelopment authority has no business building hotels period. They also have no business taxing other hotels and using the money to promote their hotel at the expense of the other private hotel owners regardless of low risk loans.
Well Wheezy, I begs to differ with ya. The Redevelopment Authority ain't behind this. They got their hands full with rebuilding east Erie mansions that fell into a spiraling state of disrepair because the whitey-ditey cracker landlords would not make improvements. My people on the newly reorganized George Jefferson Society might have to start some steel pipe wielding real soon.
