To the Family of Trooper Joseph Longobardo
DO NOT STAND AT MY GRAVE AND WEEP''
So not stand at my grave and weep ... I am not there .. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow;
I am the diamond glint on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain
I am the gentle falling rain.
I am the swift uplifting rush ... of quiet birds in circular flight
I am the starshine of the night.
Do not stand by my grave and weep.
I am not there I do not sleep.
Do not stand by my grave and cry;
I am not there I did not die.

Dawn, I'm no cop lover, but that's out of line. I feel sorrow for the families of the TWO men who have died over this issue, the officer and the civilian killed by police who mistook him for Bucky. I fear more sorrow will soon be in order over this nonsense, both police and civilians.

Satan: "Did you really say that"?
Dawn: "Yes, Satan I said that, but honest it was the crack talking".
Satan: "Well I condemn you to hell then".
Dawn: "Atleast, now I can be w/the Buckster".
Satan: "Oh & Dawn the grim reapers, are saying that you've gotta start taking a bath.... you stink".

To all you Bucky supporters out there:
Why do you support this man? Is he a decent hard working member of our community? Is he a hard-working husband and father fighting for what is right? How many times has he volunteered in the community and given something back? Also, why do you people have such hate for the men and women in uniform who are just doing the job they are hired to do? Why do you hate a man who was a good hard-working father and husband, doing his best to make a good living to support his little baby and wife? A man who was doing his job for the citizens of New York State? A man who gave his life for the protection of the citizens of NYS. Because people have supported a criminal, one man had died and a baby will grow up without his father.
My husband is a NYS Trooper. My husband is a wonderful man. He is a father of two beautiful children. He is an honest, God-fearing man who goes to work 12 hours a day to serve the people of NY. He is the one who will stop to help you when you are stranded in your car. He is the one who will come to your door and defend you with his life when someone breaks into your home (even though he doesn't know you). Why do you hate him? Why are you happy if Bucky takes my husband away? I do not understand. You may hate the laws of this state. Move. If you hate the laws of this country - Move. You do have a choice. I have to ask myself - why would a man who has made some mistakes in his life, and is about to be let out of jail in a few days, decide instead of trying to make a new start, he wants to go head first into wrong, and escape and kill good, hard working troopers who are only doing their job. Please look inside your soul. Are you so evil as to rejoice at the death of a man that is not so unlike my husband? Maybe you do not understand the person who is a NYS Trooper. Almost every trooper in the state responded to 9/11. The NYS Troopers went down to help the victims of hurricane Katrina. In the event of any future terrorist attacks, yes, the NYS Troopers will be there, putting their lives on the line to protect you. Every time a trooper dies, troopers not only come from around the state, but fellow troopers from around the country. It is brotherhood that not many can understand. Wanting to kill a trooper is like wanting to kill a solider that is standing guard to protect you from the terrorists of this world. If you do not love the ones who protect you with their own lives - please do yourself a favor and move to a country where you can be happy (France maybe?). I love my husband. I love every police officer that is out there protecting me and you. Please don't hate those officers who are protecting you. Just follow the laws, report those who kill innocent people. Don't protect them. Because if you do, chances are more children will be without a parent soon.

God Bless You, and may you make the right decision,
Trooper Wife

To Protect and To Serve
Written by : Kate Plourde [email protected]

I don't know why you chose this path
It was surely not for pay
There's no routine or certainty
That brings comfort with each day

You leave your home and take with you
Silent prayers of family
They know the dangers you will see
They pray on bended knee

Your eyes see more in just one day
Than we do in an entire year
You strive to make our homes a haven
Safe from harms way and fear

You vow To Protect and To Serve
People you don't even know
You treat them all with dignity
Despite the filth they show

The way you serve with care and honor
Reflects your reputation
You wear your badge with such great pride
And it serves as confirmation

You never know with each call you take
If this will be your last
But yet you continue to take each one
And let your doubts just pass

This is your eulogy while you yet live
To wait for your death is sad
How much we need you to keep on going
To survive in a world gone mad

The Battlefield

I lace my boots and fasten my belt,
in a holster I place my gun.
I kiss my family and leave to fight
a battle that can't be won.

Many soldiers have lost their lives
fighting in this war.
Many loved ones have heard the knock
and hated to answer the door.

Their shields of faith are badly damaged
because their loved one died.
So many questions left unanswered,
so tempting to ask why.

All of the soldiers were my friends,
all my sisters and brothers.
We took an oath and joined a brotherhood
that is larger than all others.

Everyday soldiers leave their homes
never to return,
Not asking for the ten second fame
they are sometimes destine to earn.

You say you have not seen this war
in the papers or on the news.
You know not of the loss of lives
I've explained to all of you.

These soldiers are not acroos a sea
fighting in this war.
If you want to see "The Battlefield",
just look out your front door.

Names

Life with out them would be insane,
Everyone would be so vain.
No one understands the things that they do,
But what if they decided not to protect you?

You would be lost alone and in pain,
Then would you remember their names?
The names that help in times of need,
The names, that come, and protects you from thieves.

The never complain about what they do,
And they are usually Oh so true.
So what would it hurt just to stop and say,
Thank you officers and have a nice day?

I think some of the people who don't support law enforcement may be people who break the law, have gotten a speeding ticket, a DWI etc. This is their way of 'getting even'.
I can't imagine anyone with a heart and a soul or any sort of compassion not feel for the state trooper who lost his life and for his family that must carry on without him. For what reason? I am afraid of what else may happen. I don't feel a good ending. I hope I am wrong.

Trooper Wife: Your welcome hon-I had a trooper once save my Mom's life..many years ago- but i will never forget it-
you just give all those troopers a big hug and thank you for me!
Here's one-from a lady i know-who lost her Trooper Hubby 5 yrs. ago-i still have the poem-it was written by her husbands partner..

THE CALL

The call came in and they were gone,
racing through the lonely streets at the break of dawn.

They were there to help, to do what they could,
to serve and protect, because noone else would.

Insults and taunts they took in stride,
they knew their job mattered and in that, they took ride.

Most folks were unpleasant and put them down,
loudly complained when they were around.

Yet they knew should they need them they need only call,
and they would respond and give them their all.

The danger was real, day after day,
but they never hesitated to step in harms way.

That was the oath they¹d sworn to uphold,
like those brave noble knights from days of old.

They never knew what the call would mean;
that there is no such thing, for police, as routine.

The shots rang out loud and clear,
every cop¹s nightmare, every cop¹s fear.

His days on the job had come to an end,
leaving his partner without his best friend.

Before a sea of blue, tears fell from this tough cop¹s eyes,
as torn with grief he said his final goodbyes.

One was now in a club he¹d hoped never to join,
partners left behind who continue to mourn.

His wife and kids love him, he knows that is true
and how deeply he loves them, he knows that too
But it¹s all different now, without his brother in grey & blue

He¹ll carry on and continue the fight,
but a part of him died with his partner that night.

40 years ago here in London Harry Roberts topped three cops and was on the run for quite some time - though I don't think he made it to five months. Here's a drink to Bucky Phillips, and the best of luck to him.

MAY YOU BURN IN HELL WITH BUCKY!

"I am the Trooper"

I have been where you fear to be,
I have seen what you fear to see,
I have done what you fear to do -
All these things I have done for you.

I am the person you lean upon,
The one you cast your scorn upon,
The one you bring your troubles to -
All these people I've been for you.

The one you ask to stand apart,
The one you feel should have no heart,
The one you call "The Statie,"
But I'm just a person, not to be hated.

And through the years I've come to see,
That I am not always what you ask of me;
So, take this badge ... take this gun ...
Will you take it ... will anyone?

And when you watch a person die
And hear a battered baby cry,
Then do you think that you can be
All these things you ask of me?

Harry Roberts would have been sent to prison for a short time on some gun charges. Not only did he ruin the lives of 3 police officers and their loved ones, he ruined his own life. Is this a man you think is wise? This is a man you choose to support?

Shane,
I hope you do not mind. I am going to copy some of these poems for my husband and the guys/gals he works with. I really like the last one. Thanks.
