What nation does Oklevueha come from? This is all disturbing to me as a member of the NAC and growing up in it. NAC is not only about partaking of the peyote, it is for bringing blessings, songs and prayers to our father in heaven, God the father, his son Jesus Christ and the holy ghost.

Oklevueha Native American Church is the only Native American Church that was challenged and prevailed 8 years of thorough investigations by the State of Utah and the United States Government to be a bona fide Native American Church. No other Native American Church practicing in the United States has this unique distinction.

Oklevueha Native American Church is an Earth Based Healing Religion like all other Native American Churches worshiping in the United States. And is joined with other Native American Church that have non-raciest practice by opening its doors to all sincere people of faithful disposition. The Native American Church Sacrament is but one of the American Native indigenous Ceremonies that Oklevueha NAC honors and practices.

Wow, what a way to respond to a question without actually answering it, James.

The answer is Oklevueha is not associated with any federally or state recognized tribal nation. If there is nothing wrong with that, then just come out and say it - don't spend over 100 words beating around the bush.

Chase, please watch another Fox News Channel 13 newscast http://www.youtube.com/watch... , and study the following documents posted on http://www.nativeamericanchurch.net/NAC/docs.... , with this information that has been posted for the public's viewing, in part have have been available for more 8 years, I felt why labor upon something that is so obvious.

I apologize for not dwelling on the obvious connection with Paiute, Seminoles and Lakota Sioux Nations. The Paiute and Lakota Sioux are State and Federal recognized Tribes whereas the Seminole Tribe that I am from is only State recognized.

Again, I apologize for my oversight.

This is wrong on all accounts and insulting to the Native people that this religion is reserved for. Our grandfathers put their lives on the line for this holy medicine and here you are selling out. Disgusting!

Mooney does not have 7,000 members. He is also not a Native American and is under a Federal Court Order barring him from using peyote. Our church is only comprised of Indians who are members of a Federally recognized tribes. Mooney's organization is 100% non-indians and its run like a Jim Jones style hippie compound complete with guns and a "compound".
It amazes me how stupid Utah News agencies are about this fraud. He was caught selling peyote for money, charging upwards of $12,000 for admittance to his "Ceremonies" and was prosecuted.
I can assure you that very soon the Emery County Sheriff will be arresting his members if they start using peyote down there. My advice, unless you want your name on a list maintained from the FBI and DEA stay away from this guy.

Call for a Class Action Lawsuit against Mooney:

Please contact the Utah NAC at http://www.utah-nac.org so we can attempt to obtain a Federal Injunction and serve it on Mooney and any news agency that promotes this fraud and his false claims.

All Tribes offended by this are urged to contact the Utah NAC so we can file for an order to show cause against Mooney for violating a Federal Court Order. He may only use peyote is he can obtain membership in the Federally Recognized Tribe. Since he is in fact Italian by ancestry and not an American Indian, this will never happen.

I was contacted by not less than two dozen elders this evening who were offended by this newscast. It's time to put a stop of this. Anyone who wishes to join in this lawsuit please contact the Utah NAC. Fraud and Charlatans like Mooney are a serious threat to true Native American culture and religious freedom. Because of James Mooney, peyote regulations have become so strict that a large number of legitimate Native American Churches have been punished and the process of obtaining sacred medicine from the DEA distributors has become very tightly controlled.

The State of Utah and the Federal government got their lunches handed to them when they challenged Mooney's right to practice the use of Peyote in his religious ceremonies. What makes you think they are going to press forward with this infringement and denial of religious right? You are one ignorant person to think for a second any agency has the money, time, and energy to even challenge the ruling. Remember, it is a ruling that has been handed down and is the now the ruling law. Mooney has every right to practice his religion. It's not hurting anyone and it certainly not some hippy compound as you describe. I am sickened by your intolerance. James is harmless.

What rock did you crawl out from under?

You are not only a disgrace to American Native Spirituality but you are a disgrace to the human race.

With all of your lies and slanderous behavior it is amazing that you are not posting this comment from prison, perhaps you are.

I heard that NOVEL has let you work again after being jailed for your illegal activities with their copyrighted programs. I would think after this experience with NOVEL and Me you would have mended your ways. I suggest you immediately change your ways or you will experience much more unpleasantness that you have already sent yourself and your family through.

I don't feel badly about being duped by you as you duped NOVEL in hiring you, they made life very uncomfortable for you for more than 5 years.

By the way do you still have the Eagle Fan Wing, I gifted you?

James, The UTAH NAC is about INDIANS practising THEIR RELIGION. That leaves you out since you are not an indian. I noticed when they had you locked up in Weber County jail your skin turned back to white since you were cut off from your "coppertone instant tan" supply for several weeks, and the black dyed hair turned back to its original sandy brown shot with grey.

Seriously, I am going to enjoy watching the sheriff arresting your members down there. You are not allowed to buy peyote anymore, so it's a wonder where you are getting it from. I seriously doubt you even have any peyote. Hey James, I took all your peyote and scattered it back onto the sacred fields in Texas since it had been desecrated in a police raid and ITS WAS YOUR FAULT FOR SELLING IT TO NON INDIANS -- good luck getting it back or anymore.

Just for the record, I have known James Mooney for almost 10 years, and he HATES INDIANS. Don't be fooled, he associates with non-Indians and runs a white church and does not allow Indians to attend -- not unless he is scamming one of them to get some peyote. He characterizes indians as "drunks" and "drug users" and uses racial and ethnic slurs when referring to any of us as a group, and avoids interaction.

His only interest is Native Culture is to use it as some sort of "sham" or "scam" to set himself up as a phony shaman. His ceremonies and religious events are not authentic Native American rituals and little more than hollywood era sideshows to dupe and raw in the ignorant and those seeking to participate in recreational drug use.

He's a complete fraud and does not even like indians nor associate with any of us.

Remember when you were seeking my advice on how to get into any tribe to accept you, I also remember that you were having some trouble doing so with about 1/32 of supposed Cherokee Blood.

Turkey, what about that Eagle Fan you still have it?

James,

You are so full of it. My blood quantum is 11/32 and my CDIB says so. I guess you should find out about the Baker roll since it counts just as well as Dawes on CDIB submission which I had updated in 2003.

I note you are doing what you typically do when confronted by an Indian -- bad mouthing, calling us thieves and liars. Yeah right, I have spoken Cherokee all my life. Which tribe are you from and where is your CDIB? Don't have one? well no surprise there since the BIA does not issue them to ITALIANS.

As for that buzzard feather fan you tried to push down my throat when you were trying to scam us into buying peyote for you, I had it buried since my people do not use buzzard feathers for rituals. The greenish sheen on the feathers are a dead giveway. Next time you pick up road kill off the side of the Utah highways, try to dye the feathers the same way you dye your hair and slop on the coppertone to try to make yourself look like one of us.

Hey, Chief Coppertone, I took your peyote down to Texas and scattered it across the peyote fields to release its tormented spirit for being held hostage by a fraud who was selling it for money and allowed it to be desecrated in the police raid.

For the record, no legitimate NAC charges money for sacred medicine -- its free and does not cost any money. Also, legitimate NAC's do not accept monetary donations 72 hours prior to a ceremony or 72 hours after a ceremony.

This is in stark contrast to Mooney's hippie peyote cult which charges $200.00 for admission at the door, then after Mooney overdoses his members in peyote, and while they are under the influence of it, hits them up for $12,000.00 a head or more.

We have hosted thousands of meetings since 2001 and never once accepted any $$$ for a ceremony. All of our expenses are from wealthy elders who contribute on the side. Unlike the Mormon Church or Christian Churches the NAC is not run like a "business" and we are not proselytizing with the intent to increase membership in order to increase revenues. There is no native ceremony where the sacred $$$ is used I know of.

Our membership is also closed to non-indians unless you are the spouse of an Indian (spouses of indians and family members are eligible for indian health care and are therefore exempt under AIRFA and may attend ceremonies -- the only exception we are aware of).

EMERY COUNTY SHERIFF RAIDS WHITE PEYOTE CULT

Future Date - The Emery County Sheriff made an undisclosed number of arrests at the "Jim Jones" style compound of a radical non-indian peyote church who claims its members of native americans. The names of the individuals arrested have not been disclosed. The sherriff's department refused to comment, citing they are working with Federal authorities to identify the illegal sources of the peyote being used by the group.

Sheriffs also confiscated san pedro cactus and coca leaves and other items not found in actual native american ceremonies. Native Americans applauded the actions of the sheriff's office, stating, "we are pleased that frauds like James Mooney are under this level of scrutiny, due to the actions of Mooney and those like him, legitimate Native American Churches are under intense scrutiny due to the continued abuse of our sacred medicines and ceremonies by hucksters like Mooney."

NOTE: This could be your future. This guy is watched by the feds and anyone using peyote down there may end up in jail. James, find another living than scamming people in our good name....
