Eclectic Police Department responded to what they believed to be a "domestic disturbance" call on Thursday, 06 September. What they found when arriving on the scene were concerned parents attempting to get help for their daughter. She has had a history of mental health issues, recieved treatment, and was placed on medication. Due to the nature of being Bipolar, she began believeing she was fine and stopped taking the medication. Her parents became very concerned over things their daughter was saying and then not allowing them to enter her house to check on her kids. This prompted them to call for an ambulance to pick their daughter and carry her to the hospital to be placed on medicine once more. This has occured before and was not that big of an issue, except for the daughter pushing her mother out of the door and the 63 year old father being forced to restrain his own daughter.

Needless to say when the mother makes the 911 call to obtain the ambulance the local police respond in force. Four police officers are apparently unable to restrain the woman, ulike the father as mentioned before, and decide it would be a great idea to continously use the stun gun on her. This, if you have ever been hit by a stun gun, cause the body to jerk and you mind take over and push away whatever is causing it pain. The nearest thing was an officers leg. This was not even noticed by the officer until a fellow officer made it apparent.

Then the woman was handcuffed, placed into a squad car, and told she was going to jail instead of the hospital for domestic violence and assault on a police officer. On the way to the jail the woman told her parents she was pepper sprayed or maced while still being handcuffed in the police cruiser for adjusting body position to get comfortable. Upon arriving at the jail house she is stripped and placed in a padded cell for mental patients. Not given any water she is forced to drink from the toilet, then has her cot removed from her cell when she urinates on the floor to avoid "contaminating" her drinking water.

In closing, the woman has been allowed to be placed in the mental health facility to be placed back on her medication. Although the Eclectic police have made it clear they would do everything possible to "railroad" and punish the woman for the false charges of assault on a police officer. Her parents are attempting to seek help where ever possible, but close friends have turned their backs on them refusing to get involved.

So I come to you. The public and news media to get the story out there. These particular police officer have been "run out" of previous departments they worked in, now they have found a new home they can torment the public they have sworn to serve and protect. Please help to get the message out there so that no one else will get hurt unnecessarily.

Yes, it sounds bad. It is difficult dealing with someone who has bipolar. Sometimes restraint is the only answer. It may seem crule... The young woman could have injured herself, her family, or someone else when she is not on her meds.
We are seeing this medical condition more and more , not just in adults. There is a growing population in our schools. If not properly diagnosed and treated it interfers with their education. Not to mention the education of the other students. So the public needs to be educated.

I recently encountered a similar situation with law enforcement that I am currently seeking counsel for. Law enforcent need specific guidline to follow when dealing with mental health patients. They wouldnt have treated a 6 year old that way and they wouldnt have treated a 69 year old that way why her? Why me? they just made my PTSD and panic disorder regress so much that I have worked so hard to well from. Now I'm back at step one and scared for my record of the charges they gave. Prayers to you and your family I hope you find peace!
