Cause of chemical plant fire in Avalon sought

A fire at a chemical plant in Avalon forced the evacuation of some nearby residents for several hours.

That fire is caused by the avalon fire chief allowing fire code to be broken because the company he drives for there main jobs are from geuss where the chemical plant. you should ask the chief jimmy brown.

Wow, so much conspiracy! I mean seriously! Why would "that guy" from Ft. Worth give a crap about a small volunteer fire department way down here in the sticks unless he so obviously got his feelings hurt in some way! Every single person that was let go from the fire department was let go for good reason. If it wasn't due to a concern from the fire department, it was due to a concern from individuals in the community. I think that's what this "arguement" is mostly about. Not about a fire at all. It's all about someone not being able to serve on OUR Great Fire Department any longer. I was unaware that being a firefighter for 30 years gives you the expertise in every single situation. Had it have not been for the fire chief and others that work at the chemical plant, I believe that things would not have gone as smooth as they did. "That Guy" just sit back and learn a little from the guys who deal with that plant and it's environment everyday! You can't always be the hero so let it go!!

i don't live in fort worth just like jimmy don't live in AR and I'm not Loyd but i would love to know what happened to Loyd. That fire department did not have any thing but old broken down trucks no brakes not running trucks prior to Roy taking over and he got that department 3 new trucks in his term. Please inform me jimmy what you have done for that department? I was a firefighter a number of years ago and I'm just disgusted with how jimmy has destroyed that department that all the past members and chief have built up.

I think you might need to get all your facts straight before you go spitting out your crazy words. Roy Scruggs had just as much of a chance having a heart attack as any of our volunteers do. If you think you are so fit for the job and are so concerned about Jimmy's way of running things, then I invite you to become a volunteer at our department. You make no sense in what you say..First, you've seen the records at the fire department concerning two chemical plant fire's that happened within six months of eachother (which is not true and one happened last year) and then you say that you were a volunteer way back when? Something is just not adding up! And your obviously a fan of Roy. So tell me "that guy", what have you done for our Fire Department? And, if your so concerned, then do something about it!

While i was there and Roy was chief i did not see anything wrong until Loyd Junkin showed up and started crap like he does at every fire department he goes to. I'm sure Jimmy Brown is more then capable of running that department. The second chemical plant fire was more then likely a accident. The first one was a accident for sure. I can sit here all day and say this shit but a idiot hiding behind a computer screen is not worth my time.

And, I still have no issue with Roy what-so-ever! Yes, he did do a lot for the Fire Department but at the same time, there were issues that had to be dealt with. These are the facts. Anyhow, when did this "topic" turn into who likes who and who don't? I'm just proud to say that our Fire Department has come a long way with the help of many people! Our volunteers put in a lot of hard work and training to better themselves and our community! Isn't that what it's all about anyhow? Helping our community? Keeping our community safe? We have more active volunteers now than we have ever had before and I think that benefits our fire department and our community greatly!
