I believe Colorado to be the most cruel. All you hear from worker's is "Do you know how many cases I have on my desk. They will not go to check on those children, but let someone call - "Child in trouble", and they are over it without giving the foster parents an Opportunity to tell them what actions were taken, they just come and take them out of the home.
Most of caretakers by choice because the majority of us is not paid. Aunties, grand mother's, sisters, and on and on.
I would propose that knowlegeable people are put on these committees, for legitimate input.
Train your workers sensitivity. They are not cordial, and everybody just wants some understanding. We are in this fight everyday for these children. I know there is legal advocacy. We need something like that in the other areas of Denver Social Services.

35 children have died in 3 years? You think there is a problem? Looks as if case workers have failed and should be fired! I know of case workers who put a case file at the back of the file drawer because they didn't like going out to certain homes? See a problem here? Again, Fire some people!
