This idea sounds to me like an expansion of the existing Aztec Raceway, which is a private for profit venture. Why would the taxpayer want to subsidize this while losing property tax dollars and accepting the liability? Aztec's current website has waiver forms in pdf-- meaning they aren't accepting the liability for their own operations now. I can hardly imagine them indemnifying the county... and the county has much deeper pockets. Its seems like a bad deal for taxpayers. With the recent gov't shutdown and the lack of funds to maintain the parks that we have... I think that we should be encouraging Aztec to expand their operations at their own expense.
