Sick With Swine Flu: What If You Don't Have The Days To Take Off?
You're supposed to stay out of the office if you get sick with Swine Flu, but much of the state's workforce is quickly learning they may not have the days to take off.

I suppose you'd have to take 'no pay' days or have a savings that would cover your days off. I recently had to take a week off with no pay - I tried everything I could to get those days paid for through HR. I was just out of luck. You certainly should not be going to work sick, especially if you think you have 'the' flu.

If I would not get paid time off, I would come into work, flu or not. It should be up to the company to provide paid leave for situations like that. If they choose to neglect it, it is not the individuals fault they were not able to stay at home. I know of one company, that shall remain un-named even though it was a previous employer, who would not think twice about writing up their employee's for burning ALL their sick time (note: using all sick time, even not going OVER your allotted sick time given). Ridiculous
