Her selfishness and love for the bottle has obviously cost her a great deal and another family has been affected because of her ignorance. She should be ashamed of herself and her family should bear some of the responsibility since they obviously have given her the keys and allowed her to drive. That Lower Terre Haute Road is bad enough on a good day, let alone one where the driver is drunk and rain has been factored into the equation.

Well the county has done a lot over the years trying to stop underage drinking. They ran front page of the paper for a few years the people buying alcohol for minors. But I guess no one understands that most of the county is drug addicts, which started with alcohol. They pray on the Meth heads and little pot smoker to keep our county funded by the state. But the first time they have a chance to do something right it seems they are not going to set a good example. As the county’s main problem is not all the meth heads or pot heads those people are only a small % of the people compared to that the have a real problem with the true gateway drug that is alcohol.
I feel really bad for her family but from what I understand she was going home from her sons own business that is one of a few that servers alcohol on Sunday. I’m shocked they did not know their mom to drink to drive? Why did someone not stop her? Why is because we as a county worry more about the meth heads and pots heads then the real problem in this county and that’s the alcoholics.
Our county members have more access to alcohol then kids have access to a good education. Sorry for the family but the county must set a good example here by put her in prison for a long long time. As well the license for the place severing her should be pulled without question for at least a year. The person giving her the drinks at the bar should never working in a bar again. But I’m sure the county won’t do the right thing here as they only watch out for people with somewhat of a name. I remember a boy getting leg cut off by a boat on the lake by a drink driver of a boat. The boat was owned by someone that was well known as well. This county needs to wake up and see Meth and pot are not the problems that is hurting or killing people here. It’s truly the access to alcohol and the misusage of that drug and it should be seen just like the others.
Don’t get me wrong I personal love a drink but its just like other drugs if you are not responsible. So just like the county does for pot they arrest the producers, the sellers and the users.. That should be what is done here the responsible parties should be held accountable. The bar, the server and the driver period.. But I’m sure they won’t as our county is screwed up. No matter what side of politics you are on sometimes right is right. With the loss of two lives all responsible parties should take ownership here.
I’m sure the county will not do the right thing here. But I hope the Family of the victims are smart here and end up owning part of the business severing, and all the land and possessions of the Rhodes. Sorry but again what is right is right.. Lives lost that can never be again are gone even if they were in the lower % of the income bracket and killed by a well-known family.

She had not been at a bar. I don't believe her son has any interest or ownership in the bar/restaurant, just the golf course. My heart goes out to all the families impacted by this terrible tragedy.
All can make a difference. Please be safe - don't drink and drive. Watch out for your friends and family members. Let us all prevent another tragedy.

Lets check the facts.. Seems you did not provide any facts to check? All reports say she was coming from the golf course.. Is there not a bar there? Fact check that would be a yes there is a bar.. Check.. Second does her son not own the building and there for by legel standards could have a issue as he would help select the operator of the bar. oh Check again.. None fact if you lease or rent a building you could be liable for their actions. It all depends on the contract and how the ownership of the building is setup. Just ask Barnhartt how many law suits he got pulled into when Kmart was around.. LOL So lets Fact check!!! Please provide some facts or something close to facts if you call someone out for their opinion..

Also I know its not about getting even or the Rhodes would have to give up a grandparent and grand child.. not sure that would be even... There is nothing that could make someone getting killed by a drunk driver even.. WTF are you thinking?

The Golf Course was sold as a package and that included the restraunt although I don't know why anyone would want it. But on the other hand, Holloways who have leased the building have done an outstanding job and the foold is wonderful. But again, unfortunately the entire property was sold as on purchase and not broken down into multiple sales. To my knowledge Bartos and Rhodes were the buyers with some backing by local residents and another undisclosed source. I would make a good guess that Anita is not one of those owners or investors. I certainly hope that when the landscape business was started years ago that Anita didn't help her son out and if so hope all debt was repaid.
