It definately was not an 18-wheeler that she ran into. It was a bob-tail flatbed. He was already straightened out and grabbing gears, or how could she have plowed into the back of the truck?
Were they able to make an accurate determination of the speed of the pickup? Have they been able to determine why she didn't change lanes or slow down? There is such a thing called "last clear chance". Some people have talked about someone talking on a cell phone. Why do they assume the truck driver must have done something stupid? Maybe the driver of the pickup was distracted.
There were no other passengers in the pickup or the truck. I wish the DPS would be more responsible in giving out this information and the news stations would show some diligence in getting the facts correct before releasing a story to the court of public opinion.
