When I asked Charles North, President of the Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce, "what keeps him up at night" .. the response was "nothing". It is unbelievable to me that the a figure head, who represent local business in the greater Poughkeepsie area, has the audacity to say "nothing" keeps him up at night in todayís economy - Charlie, plenty should keep you up at night, PLENTY. We have a Federal Government who is attacking small business and entrepreneurs, a state that is taxing EVERONE and any breathing sole and a county that is LOST - but you, the self proclaimed guardian of THINK LOCAL FIRST - sleeps well? Chuck, you are lost!!!! Understand, you local businesses dilemma and perhaps you will lose some sleep as the local business owners have ......we all are hurting and the sooner organizations like the Chamber admit it, the sooner we can come together for solutions!! The solutions are simple and can be implemented, but when you donít admit to an issue, you wallow in ignorance. We all need to understand the Regional Chamber of Commerce in Dutchess County only represents ITSELF --- for shame!

Certainly needs a sedative :) Why should the worlds problems keep you up at night. Just because you need sleeping pills, doesn't mean we should all freak out 24/7.

Go Chalie North, do what you do well, and keep people meeting and getting to know each other. There is no better service to the community than to actually know your neighbors.
