This article is a little fuzzy about the "school groups" making the donations, but lest anyone be concerned that St Paul kids gave up their milk money for the ospreys here is info from the Dubuque paper:

Dubuque County's successful effort is the result of donations, grants and local organizations that sponsored the birds ($525 each):

* The Eleanor Roosevelt Middle School students' Sierra Society, one bird

* The Friends of the Dubuque County Conservation Board, one bird

* The Dubuque Audubon Society, one bird

* The University of Dubuque's Web of Life environmental club, two birds.
