Ok first we read that bonuses were given to COURTHOUSE EMPLOYEES ONLY -- and the DCAA was NOT to be included.

Then the paper says that the Commission GAVE the bonuses to the DCAA without taking a vote on it and they did it through some type of paperwork

NOW the paper has quoted the Clerk saying the bonuses (they are calling it something else now -- maybe to further hide they are recieving bonuses) will be discussed and voted on at the Commission's next meeting ---

Now WHY should the Commission give the employees at the DCAA a bonus when most of them already make more per hour than some of the courthouse employees and have been there a hell of a lot less time than most of the courthouse employees ----

and was mentioned shuffeled some money[thats a good thing] into the rainy day fund without a public motion

did they have private meeting to decide this, like in the angie days?

just wonder what else we not know?

Interesting, "confused." Had not heard this latest.

I'm still trying to digest the fact that our Doddridge DCAA has an operating budget greater than the Lewis county EMS, handles far less 911 calls than Lewis county's EMS, an for a county population of about 1/2 that of Lewis County, and yet has almost twice the number of employees of DCAA as compared to Lewis County's EMS.

What's wrong this picture, folks? Maybe we should do an analysis of both of these EMS squads -- Lewis and DCAA..(Lewis by the way not having the county commission covering their payroll, and their TOTAL operating budget for EMS in Lewis Co. is about the same as our DCAA payroll by itself)

Anyone care to run the numbers in even more details than what was in the paper recently? A staff of 30 + DCAA employees and we get about 40-60 TOTAL 911 calls for an ambulance each month? How is it that Lewis county is able to operate so much more efficiently with much higher call numbers, less expenses, and less staff, than good ol' Doddridge? And do so WITHOUT the burden on the taxpayers that we have for ours?

Anyone want to take a crack at that and provide a logical answer? Is it any wonder that the news of the two commissioners (guess which ones) quietly signing bonuses for DCAA, and allocating the money without discussion or motion at commission meeting, is not sitting very well with some county residents? LOL

STUD, dividing wealth and spreading it around makes the world go round. Just look at me- after society has divested itself of more TANF, unemployment, SNAP, reparation and SSI checks than it can keep track of I've finally recovered from my debilitating ADDICTION to TROLLING and can give back. I think everyone deserves that opportunity- it's a good use of your tax dollars.
