Well I know most of it is done by Mr. Moore, who the last time I knew isn't a certified mechanic. So I know that i know that if I was ever in a wreck due to mechanicle problems I know where where my lawyers office is.

All were safe and that is the most important issue. A new ambulance can always be purchased. This could have happend to even a personal vehicle. I've seen it happen along the road in different areas of the country. Should all of those owners sued their mechanics? NO. You people need to find something productive to do with your time. GET A LIFE!!!

It shouldn't amaze me to see the hate mongers out today ---

Am wondering if Mr. Moore also was the mechanic for the DCAA's ambulance (607) that caught fire and burnt up the engine that had to be replaced --- This was also an electrical fire ----

Not the 1st time an ambulance has burnt --- won't be the last time --- So sorry this has happened but so glad that everyone (including the patient who was placed almost immediatly in another ambulance that happened along) is OK!!!!

I would like to send my deepest sympathy to the DCEMS, when something like that happens to an agency we all understand that fully stocked ambulances are very expensive to replace. It was truly a blessing that everyone made it out ok and no one was injured. I would like to take this time to clarify the misunderstanding about DCAA Ambulance 607. I had the engine replaced due to multiple reasons including dead cylinders, once the truck was repaired and sent back one of the alternators had its bearings lock up. I would just like to clarify that the ambulance did not catch fire and the alternator did release a minimal amount of smoke, in turn my crew immediately located the problem and took appropriate action. We were very fortunate that there was no patient on board the vehicle or that vehicle was not proceeding to an emergency scene. I am very pleased to say I am grateful to have two agencies serving this county and to protect its citizens. I think the blame game that goes on is very childish and we should be instead focusing on working as a team and improving as a whole.

Randy --- I commend you for speaking in such a positive manner -----

But from what YOU said on the meeting video was that the alternator was what caused the fire on 607 -----

And I find it intersting that not only does the DCEMS have a fire but the DCAA also has a fire --- So the question that needs to be asked is: Is there a big problem with alternators that are being used on the bigger trucks?

Yes i did say fire and it was contained to the alternator. I dont think its a defect as much as they just wore out and as the demand goes higher on the system they build heat as they are producing energy and with the heat idex as it is plus the motor heat the grease heats up it causes more friction on the bearings and causes them to lock up. I am not a mechenic, but this is just my thought.

I don't know why every one is makeing a big deal about that every one got out safe!! DCAA'S unit was on fire that is some thing you can an never know when of if that will happen it can happen to a new car right off the lot so why make a big fuss about it ? both DCAA and DCEMS are here to serve the county and they both do the best they can. What the people in this county need to relize is that that both EMS companys are here to help you when you need it as well as the fire deparments so why hate on them? if you think you can do better they got a app you can fill out take the traning and get up at all hours of the night and go out from your familys and see how you do and you dont get christmas or things like that off think about that they put alot of time in on traning and it is all to help every one in doddridge i use to serve in fire and ems where i was from it takes alot of time to take the traning and alot of time away from your family and every time you go out you dont know if you will make it back!! so just think about that befor you hate on the EMS and FIRE in this county!!!

So it sounds like someone was making a big deal about the electrical fire of a dcems vehicle suggesting it was because of who their mechanic was? Yet an electrical fire also happened to a DCAA vehicle? Ha! If so, a poor choice for the person who posted about Mr. Moore with intent to try to poke fun, as I doubt if he also works on DCAA vechicles, yet they had an electrical fire also?

I believe one question needs to be asked, is Mr. Moore an ASC licensed mechanic.

Are not all these EMS,Fire trucks and such county vehicals have to have someone who is state lic to do major work on these much needed units ? Iam sure most can check the oil, fuel, water and check the fuses and put window cleaner and a tire check.Right ?
If someone was not state Cert and did there best then maybe they should get a class on this to prevent any further so called problems ? Iam also glad no one was hurt, but DCEMS has had a bad year
and I was hopeing things were going in there favor.
