2012 --was just held on May 1st this year. And well attended. People are starting to worry about what's coming to Doddridge--and it ain't the conventional well drilling (or drillers) they are used to dealing with. The industrialization of Doddridge is just around the corner. We'll still be a poverty county when these big multi-billion, international conglomerate companies are finished with us and tapping our gas under our farms to ship to China. Only we'll be left behind to deal with the contaminated water wells, loss of land use, and health issues from compressor emissions, chemical leakage in soil and groundwater. These guys will be gone with their billions and we'll still be a damn welfare county -- and one with a trashed environment. Just like Washington Co. and Bradford County PA, and Wetzel County WV. Goggle the key words "fracking impacts" along with those county names and see what you get. Read the research and horror stories and know it's our turn next.

Please do your homework on the impacts of this unconventional kind of drilling as compared to the gas wells this county is used to having.

And if you would still consider placing your property in the hands of drillers, than at least have an attorney look over your lease before signing.

Hiram Lewis out of Morgantown handles surface owners' rights as does Cynthia Loomis near Salem. Check out the WV Surface Rights Org website www.wvsoro.org as they have a ton of info on the site including lease stuff.

Of course it's your decision if it's your land and your mineral rights. But if you aren't living over top of those minerals to be the surface that gets disturbed, at least take time to google "Washington County PA Fracking issues" or "Wetzel County WV fracking issues" and start reading from there. Know what you'll be doing to your neighbors before you decide!

The by product of fracking is toxic waste, heavy metals. Frac ponds are at every site, full of toxic waste. What is done with this waste? Can it over flow during heavy rains? Why is the toxic cocktail used secretive? Why can some light their drinking water with a match after the drilling? Why do some doctors want more research done about people getting sick near the well sites? Why has Vermont chosen to ban all fracking if it is so safe??? Why do the large trucks at the rivers and streams do their work late at night? Do we have inspectors checking these sites to make sure that no toxic by product is being pumped back into the rivers? Taking thousands of gallons of water from the streams and rivers, is this really safe for the environment? Most sites are inspected by out of state workers. Has the DEP tested all these frac ponds that are in WV. Has our elected officials become blinded by greed? Permits for drilling issued at an alarming rate, does the state have the manpower to protect our state? Are all the DEP workers from WV?????? Please research frac ponds and the toxic by products.

Please see my post on the other thread (EQT lawsuit with commission" and read about the www.wvhostfarms.org initiative which is bringing researchers into WV to study all you speak of but do it this time on the FRONT END of the drilling, before it does to us what it has done to Washington County, PA and Wetzel.

Help from the research community is on the way, as well as out of state journalists to record what is happening here.
