Why is it this man can commit assault and not be charged?
Why would the citizens of Dickson allow him around their children?
Seems funny that government workers are virtually immune from prosecution.

A Dad was shot for defending his children. Their step-dad was abusing them and their mother was allowing it to go on. Although this Dad had it on record with Child services that the step-dad was abusing them, the judge still rules in favor of the mother and gives her custody. When the kids tell their Dad he still hits them he has no choice but to defend them. The mother is to blame. Someone needs to check out this judge - sounds like he's corrupt. He's a friend of the mother's family and should have stepped aside in the custody hearing but didn't. Very unethical.

Because the guy was abusing his children. We need more people like him to defend our children. Child services already has record the step-dad was abusing, but a corrupt judge still allowed the mother to have custody. What would you do to someone who hit your children?

This mother should go to jail with her husband for allowing him to hit her children.

Why would anyone want their children educated by a man that cannot control his emotions?
Obviously they feel it is okay to take the law into their own hands.
Is it any wonder why so many children are in trouble with their educators training them to have such total disrespect for the law and the court system.
This man needs a felony conviction and his teaching rights permanently revoked.
The man that was defending himself from a felony assault should be exonerated and compensated for his loss of liberty.

Everyone I have ever talked to says this mother is crazy and should not have those children anyway. The children are the victims here.

Step parents should never even touch the kids

Good old boy was the man shot in the front or back? I heard back if so I fail to see defending one self sounds weak. But I really do not know all the facts.

Good old boy the man had already tried to involve the law and the law ignored the fact that the stepdad was hitting his kids. Who is supposed to protect the kids? You choose to support someone who would shoot a man in the back rather than take the butt whipping he deserves for hitting kids. I would be honored for this man to teach my kids. He took a bullet trying to protect his kids.

Good Old Boy - the man you say should be exonerated shot a man in the back and was abusing kids. Really? Exonerated and compensated for his loss of liberty? What about the small children that couldn't protect themselves? What should he get for hitting them? More compensation because their Dad hit him? He got what he deserved and he deserves to go to prison for a long time. The wife should go as well for allowing a man like that to touch her kids.

Well I stand corrected.
This enplanes why so many Tennessee children are in prison.
They are educated my people that have no respect for the law and as a bonus they have parents that have no respect for the law.
This was a very stupid educator, picks a fight, brings fist's to a gunfight.
Then the community turns him into A martyr for his illegal actions and lack of common sense and civic responsibility.

Haha...good old boy....you got some nerve! I agree with Tennessee. You want to talk about no respect for the law....what a stupid man to bring a loaded gun to pick up the kids in the first place! He was actually going to put the kids in the car with a loaded gun!! I guess some people are ok if soemone brings a gun to a fight....but not their fists to a fight. haha...but understandable...some men are weak and scared to face the consequences of their actions - he needed to have the crap beat out of him for hitting kids! Good old boy what do you think about a man that hits kids?????????

The mother of these kids's is not a good person. She's a user...and now she's probably done with her new husband now that he did her dirty work for her. I'm sure his aim was to kill him. I sure am glad the neighbor wa their to stop him.

Are you kidding me!? If someone hits my child, then I will not be able to control my emotions either and someone WILL get a beating! Coach Jones was being a REAL parent and defending his children. If you have children and wouldn't do the same, then I feel sorry for your kid(s)!

He was shot in the back. The stepfather was a pansey. He couldn't "fight like a man". Instead, he pulled a gun like a bitch. He shot Jones in the back while he was running away. At that point, a gun shouldn't be drawn.(It shouldn't have been in the first place!) The stepfather screwed himself. He could have got Jones for assault (maybe still can). Now, though, since he shot Jones while running away (when there was at that point no need for defense) the stepfather will Kore than likely be charged for attempted murder. Heck of a brain on that one.

BTW, when you hit a CHILD, the LEAST you deserve is to be popped in the mouth a few times.

The stepfather is out on bail and the mother is still letting him hang around her kids! She is taking up for the man who hit her kids. She is a real piece of work. She doesn't care about the kids, she wanted Jones dead and used her husband to try and get it done.
