Woman didn't appear hurt, jail nurse says
“The patient had no complaints about any injury and repeated to me to that she did not want to go through the rest of the intake process”
A nurse at the Denver County Jail who screened Emily Rice before she was placed in her cell last February apparently dismissed Rice's complaints about pain as attempts to get out of spending any time in jail. via Rocky Mountain News

my heart goes out to the family.
after being in acar accident, any kind of head injury would make a person lathargic/incoherent.
a drunk person would only make the diagnosis harder to detect.
the victim should have been watched more carefully considering she was in a car accident.
i wonder if the nurse and the jailers involved can sleep at night knowing that this person died accidently in their care.
even if a person is arrested and incarcerated, they are innocent until proven guilty.
doctors at many hospitals are overworked or have long, long hours and mistakes/misdiagnosis are going to happen.
health care in general, has to change for the better.
i have a sister who is a drug company rep (sales) and i have seen the kind of 'perks' she gives for doctors and what the company hands out.
