More development does not necessarily mean things will be better financially for existing residents. The Polaris development resulted in a doubling of our property taxes, an additional 0.5% sales tax and a special 0.5% sales tax for roads.
You can rest assured that the development of the 36/37 interchange will do one thing raise our taxes so why should DELCO provide any kind of public funding, bonds, special financing district or otherwise to a developer like Shively. Especially given his past relationship with an ex commissioner. One has to wonder whether the 36/37 selections process was on the up and up and what kind of things could be going on behind the scenes reported in the Gazette.
