sad situation

He came to my work several times harassing customers and asking for money and cigarettes. He threw a cup of coffee at one of my co-workers once. He was drunk everytime he came in. We called his family to come get him but they never did. Finally he started to become a problem and we had to call police. It was a sad situation. He seemed to be a very troubled person I hope he is finally at peace with whatever demons he had.

Once gave him $5 to knock himself out by running into a wall! Best $5 I ever spent!

You know all of you all can say these things but have no clue of the problems he had! Your right he did have family and they did love him very much! You can take that 5 and shove it where the sun don't shine!! That town drunk was my Father and no we weren't proud of how he lived his life but Thank God we have you people to judge him cause I don't know what we would do without you!!

John may have been labled as "The town drunk" but there was alot more to him! Ive had my fair share of run ins with John in the ER and on an ambulance and no matter how intoxicated he was, he never tried to hurt any of the staff. He was a gentle soul who was a handsome and very intelligent man when he was sober! Honestly when i saw him sober I didn't even reconize him!! My thoughts and prayers go out to his family, who from what ive seen, cared and loved him very much. I will be thinking of you as you have to not only deal with the loss of your father and loved one but with the stigma that came along with him in this tiny town! Those of us who knew him and dealt with him reguarly know he wasn't just "the town drunk" May he rest in peace.

Wow you're ridiculous his autopsy showed chronic alcohol abuse. Nothing about head drama. Even if that was the case no one but John Brooks would be responsible bc it was his choice to do that. No one physically bashed his head in the wall he did it to himself, that's if the head bash incident is even true

Maybe if people knew the life changing moment that caused John to turn to alcohol to cope, then they wouldn't pass judgement. Bc it could happen to any of us. This man served this country for 8+ years and the VA didn't do sh!t to help him after being in combat all of his military career...not only that but from what I've been told he tragically lost his wife. Rest in peace JSB. I spent 5 years dealing with John in jail and never once did this man show any ill-manners. This man stood up for people and wasn't scare to take a hit for one of us. John passed where we all knew he would and at least it was somewhere he was taken care of!

I don't know who Mr. Brooks was but I know that very good people can have alcohol addictions. I am sure Mr. Brooks' family probably has tons of wonderful memories and stories of a what a good man he really was. Have a heart, people. My sympathy and prayers to this man's family.
