Gary has always been loved by those Nashvillians who really know him. He is
someone who Nashvillians will rally
around and pray for. He is a good
father and has made a mistake. There are many of us here to help. We all
love you Gary and Matthew!

Gary Again We all love you I know God does. You have made a mistake we all have even if we want to amit it or not, I know I have, I still do cause of my sin. But it is good to know the father loves us enough to say I love you and with his arms wide open says I forgive you come home. God is with you. We love you Keep God and his word and you will never fail..All you need is Jesus..

Right What we need to do I pray for the men and women who try to tell about God through preaching, tesching and singing, cause the devil want's them to fall in sin. Let's pray for Gary and his family and all Gods little children cause we are all Gods children young and old..

I find it ironic that this action can be justified but if a non-christian is caught in sin they are met with scorn and derision. Perhaps that could be explained. We ought to feel this same level of remorse and compassion for all who fall.

At any rate I can hardly imagine a worse example of the christian life than his former wife Amy Grant. Perhaps the trauma of having his wife leave him was too much, that I can understand.

Ummm...Jon, in case you didn't know, he admitted in several interviews that he had a drug problem when they married, although she didn't know it at the time. He had a bad cocaine problem for years and years. He might still have that problem, in light of all this. Her only mistake was not leaving him earlier (or maybe marrying him at all was a her biggest mistake). What I think is truly traumatizing is being the world's biggest Christian superstar while at the same time being married to a huge addict. Can you imagine the stress? She is far better than I am-while Gary Chapman and others have trashed her name again and again, she took the high road, never mentioning the problems Gary brought to the marriage. I wouldn't have been gracious enough to do the same. By the way, someone mentioned how Nashvillians rally around him. Being from the area, I've also known many Nashvillians who had not-so-nice words to say about him being a womanizer (while married to Amy Grant).

Marriage is a complex and sometimes frustrating situation. If you are not them, you don't know the circumstances they found themselves in. They make choices like everybody else. Leave 'em alone!

Hi Jon, I don't think it is so much that Gary is extended compassion because he is a Christian. I think it's because of the kind of person he really is. Despite his drug and alcohol problems, he has been the kind of human being who looks for the good in others, and also contributes to society in an effort to help others reach their potential. I think people see that and realize that his life has not always been about making the wrong decisions.
And I cannot imagine why you would think that Amy is a bad example of the Christian life. Because she couldn't stay in a marriage that was draining the life out of her? Should she have stayed in it & died quietly everyday? How would that make her a better person?
And I know that tongues still wag about the relationship between Amy & Vince before the relationship was made public by them. But who really cares? She had children to consider, so she remained legally bound to a man who wasn't able to be what she needed. It is entirely possible to live under the same roof and not be 'married' anymore.
I appluade her for trying as long as she did. I applaude him too for trying. But sometimes things just cannot be the way they used to be. May they both live in peace for the remainder of thier lives.

Being from Chicago, I don't know about the goings-on in Nashville; however, I have been a fan of Gary for about 10 years now. None of us is perfect and I am sure Satan works harder on those in the spotlight than others. I will continue to pray for Gary and his family and continue to support his musical projects. No matter how much we sin, we can't get away from the light inside.

Amen John!I totally agree. We all make mistakes in life and none of us would wish to be kicked around if we fall.
Instead, We should continue to pray and lift up Gary,
offer encouragement through email or blogs or whatever.
Gary has been through the ringer and God is always ready willing and able to help us to offer his nail scarred hand to grab ahold of.
The Amy/Vince story and the divorce is over an done with. it's in the past and it's not fair or right to condemn either Gary, Amy or Vince anymore. God's grace is sufficient for all of us ,and the same grace is extended to everyone.
Let's all jsut quit casting stones and Love the way Jesus Loved us.

Does this appear to you too, or is just me....
A City paper, grabbing on to just about any news story they can get! Don't they get the AP (Associated Press) reports each morning, London time 6 hours prior!
What a crock of crack!!! Let's examine their life, shall we? We'll find: a whole ton of family idiocynricies, including, but not limited to, alcohol and drug abuse. Truck loads of parenting issues as well as tons of self-esteem kid problems. Let's add the fact that parents die eventually, money comes and goes, love comes and goes too:...
What a crock of bad reporting! And from a town like Nashville! You disgrace the America I have grown up in! Listen....more than once....to ANY true country song....and then...have an opion! What you give us now is just as crap as is the music you promote!!!! Give us a break!
We want George Jones back!!! In all his glory and defeat! Don't you get it?
Of course not, and I understand that college is really hard! I understand that you need to now make your make in life, just so that all your current "friends" know who you are, and how great they are too!
Please, please, think about who your marketing efforts affect! Think about what made your interest peak to begin with. Is this what you were after?
Please tell me "NO" Topix.Net , cause I am just about ready to give up hope in this American
System!!! Is this what our Forefathers fought for? PLEASE use this College Time for good, all you Interns, and please hear us little people out here!
THANKS, in advance....XO

I don't know about you. Getting on stage and looking at all those people that you want to do well in front of. You prepare so hard for the effect; almost a lifetime. Two things, you either fail or you do well. It is the bum and a hero effect. As a performer, you feel high or low from the fans response but their is going to be an eventual let down or a withdrawal symptom.

Then there is a artistic expression. Where you suffer from musician coordination block or writers block? Because you are trying to accomplish so much and meet the demands of the public as a good musician (trying to keep up with the music rat race). Musicians do so much drugs to get them going and give them to think and intellectualize. Smoking and caffeine is just as bad. I know because I'm a a sugar addict.

Let me give you an example; cooking good food at a restaurant and someone gives you a recipe to make exotic Chicken Tunduri for honored distinguished guest. You only have a week to prepare with no help. What are going to do?
