N.C. smoking ban takes effect Jan. 2
Certain phrases at restaurants in North Carolina, such as, "Smoking or nonsmoking?" or "Do you have a smoking preference?" will soon be a thing of the past.

"Holliman said the Jan. 2 date was chosen as a means of avoiding confusion at New Years Eve parties.
"I didnt want to mess up anybodys New Years Eve party past midnight," Holliman said. "Its just as easy to start it on the second."
How nice of the anti to allow these places to have a good NYE turnout.
By NYE 2010, many of these places will be closed.
