Perhaps we need a civics lesson - when did the law change that a convicted felon could run for office?

I like Hege, he did his job with authority and concern for the people of Davidson County, however he did wrong as to appropriate monies for items the county had not approved, which means he overstepped his authority, not just this but many other ways, most are not worthy of mention as all LEO officials must sometimes bend a rule or overstep for various reasons. He is a felon so the rule of thumb here is to set an example and to re-elect him would go against the rule, but I have faith that the good folks in Davidson County
will find the right leader no matter what.

You need to proof read before posting a story like this. If it was breaking news I'd understand.

I used to stay with this ole gal in Davidson County. It was a struggle to ride my moped through the county without fear of gettin stopped by his men. Spent sometime in his jail, and I said rite then, that I was never goin back! That man ruled Davidson County, and the criminals knew it! If I was still livin in Davidson I would vote for the man in a heartbeat! The man put Davidson County on the map!

I always assumed that a decent grasp of the English language was a prerequisite for practicing journalism using the written word. How could I be so naive?
Maybe the author was just trying to boost the self esteem of the idiots quoted in the story. I was ecstatic upon leaving Guilford County and their politics behind. I am so thankful I didn't move to Davidson County after reading the comments.

Alot of the elder folks liked him and what he did for this county. He is a very nice man actually and he did get alot of crime off the streets but for what he has done and being a convicted felon i honestly don't see how he can run again and win.

How can a convicted felon carry a firearm? Let alone be a law enforcement officer. At least the people can decide.
