The "open meetings" law is in the Wisconsin Constitution and requires 24 hours notice of public meetings unless there is an emergency or legislative rules stating otherwise.
The Wisconsin legislative conference committee met on less than 2 hours notice (with no emergency and no rules exemption) to consider and vote on the union busting law. This clearly violated the law.
Why are so many conservatives now hostile toward the constitution of Wisconsin and the rule of law?
The republicans waited for weeks while the liberal p******s were in hiding. This will pass, just a delay by a liberal activist judge.

Be a judge instead of a political hack. Your ruling will be overturned. Sad, politics before justice. Idiot judge.
based on what?

it DOESSSSSS look like they did it wrong (republicans)

they tried to go around her order

not sure what COULD be overturned...

do people think before they react to their "team"

I swear if you came on here and said:

REPUBLICANS SAY...

half of you would write how terrible it was and half how great

then if you said "oops" I meant DEMOCRATS SAID IT...

you'd all just switch sides without thinking or wondering why you did a 180 so easily!

There is no better example of "activist judges" than the shameful 5 who voted in 2000 to put Bush in the White House even though he lost the election by 950,000 votes nationally. Scalia and Co. never interfered or moved to overturn a decision of an appellate court except as Scalia wrote in his opinion "except in this instance." He had previously voted 504 times to sustain the opinion of an appellate court. So don't talk about "activist courts" unless you know what you're talking about. And then there was Citizens United, which overturned the McCain-Feingold finance law last year. Guess that's not a good example of an "activist court"? Right-wingers, get a life from your hypocrisy! If there is an activist judge or judges, look no further than Scalia, Thomas and Co., who overturned a state appellate court that was conducting a statewide recount of an election which only states are qualified to conduct - not the federal government. Stop this garbage about "activist judges" until you know what you're talking about!!

In interviews with National Review Online, Koch executives responded to the incident and pledged to “not stop” supporting free-enterprise initiatives, even as opponents attempt to sully the Koch name and the groups that brothers David and Charles Koch, the company’s co-owners, support. They also noted that David Koch and the governor have never met or spoken.

“With the Left trying to intimidate the Koch brothers to back off of their support for freedom and signaling to others that this is what happens if you oppose the administration and its allies, we have no choice but to continue to fight,” says Richard Fink, the executive vice president of Koch Industries.“We will not step back at all. We firmly believe that economic freedom has benefited the overwhelming majority of society, including workers, who earn higher wages when you have open and free markets. When government grows as it has with the Bush and Obama administrations, that is what destroys prosperity.”

The Society of Professional Journalists issued the following release condemning the Buffalo Beast’s fake call to Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker, in which the BB’s editor attempted, spectacularly unsuccessfully, to trick the Governor into making inflammatory or embarrassing statements. All he managed to do was to prove that Walker had never spoken to David Koch in his life, effectively debunking conspiracy theories that the Koch brothers were calling the shots in the Wisconsin public unions showdown.

No problem. Let him sign. Republicans are feeling a little sheepish and know that Kasich is taking them down. Just like Wisconsin.
It will be put on the ballot and SB5 will be overturned.
Thank for costing the taxpayers tons of money again, Republicans.
What fools.

Now these weasels want to eliminate the constitutional authority of the Judicial branch of government. Refer them to Marbury vs. Madison (1803). If this judge says the law is not in effect, it is not in effect. If they play these games, the Gov will be in placed in jail under contempt. Bring it Scotty.......

Please oh learned one, help us understand why and how it is OK for the obama andmin.to continue to implement Obama Care even AFTER a FEDERAL DISTRICT JUDGE ruled the law was UNCONSTITUTIONAL......I guess it is OK for a democrat to be in contempt of a lawful Court Order By a FEDERAL judge, but it is NOT OK for a Govenor to be in "Contempt" of a County Judge....who has no jurisdiction over the state legislature...Please explain that to us....It is obvious that Walker and the administration will prevail. Get use to it losers....You lost at the ballot box and you will continue to lose in the courtrooms. The voters have had all of your dirty tricks and we say enough is enough !!!!! Your turn to voice your position was voided by your representaives taking their toys with them and hiding out in another state.....your little game failed and you will continue to fail......LOSERS.
