She is only on the show to help ratings, and no she can't dance.

He should have waited until last night when Anne lennox was singing.
That would have been worth shooting at the t.v.
Hey, I'm just having some fun here!!!!!!!!

Agreed, I believe she was invited to do the show for ratings. I think the poor kid is out of her league with the celebrities on the show who are very good dancers and comfortable with cameras and performing. But I have to hand it to her, though, for her guts and her go-for-it attitude. When I heard her tell of driving five days in her truck from Alaska for the show, I suddenly felt maternal for her and understood why the judges wore kid gloves with her. I sensed that even her competitors are taking her under their wing, knowing she's a kid who is far from home and out of her element. People should not pick on her just because of who her mother is, even though she's being thrown into the spotlight just because of who her mother is. I don't think Bristol asked for any of this celebrity but she's handling it the best she can.

Zen, she DID ask for this celebrity attention by agreeing to appear on the show. They pay her a nice chunk of change for it. Don't pity her. She made the choice to appear just like she made the choice to have unprotected sex with a moron which resulted in her becoming and unwed teen mother.

He probably really would have gone Bezirk if he had watched Sarah Palin's Alaska and actually got a glimpse of how a funtional family operates.

She's her mother's daughter...what a horrible place to be. And craves the publicity as much as her mother does.

Good thing he didn't wait until last night when Bristol made it to the finals. Who knows the T.V. probably would not have been the only casualty.

Gotta love the newspaper's attempt to get people to read a story. I guessed it worked. Make the story about Palin's daughter, its her fault that this guy lost it. Had nothing to do with this....
"Cowan had also been under stress because of a financial situation and was receiving care for a mental health problem, the complaint states. Cowan's wife, Janice, told police that her husband had been drinking, but she did not think he was intoxicated."
But yet, here we are talking about the 18 yr old daughter of a politician. Well played PP, well played.

She didn't seek out the invitation to be on the show, but I believe she's a girl who doesn't back down from a dare. Believe me, I am not a fan of her mother, but as far as the kid goes I think her missteps in life have been painfully broadcast and amplified beyond what most teenagers are emotionally equipped to handle. If I were her mother, I would not have encouraged her appearance on DWTS. I would have begged her to keep herself and her little boy away from the spotlight for their own safety and peace of mind. I would have kept my family away from the press instead of creating a reality show and inviting cameras into our home. We agree that Bristol should not have gotten knocked up at her tender age, but regret and shame isn't going to help her raise a healthy baby boy, which should be her only priority at this stage of the game. That's just me, though. All that said, I still feel a little pang for the girl and I wish her a safe trip back to Wasilla when the show is over.

My money, by the way, is on Jennifer Grey to win it, though Brandy is sure a close second.

Way too much Wis beer. I still say they should blow all the bridges leading to Mn from Wis, Mn would improve vastly in terms of quality of life.

BTW also ban Wis residents from posting on Mn WEB sites, all they do is krap all over makeing a mess!
