Did Obama really say that, or was it just a setup for the punch line?

If he did, that is what I find offensive, and if he didn't, that part of the joke is more offensive than the punch line. My assumption would be that he is a president of all the people, not just the minorities!

If the Obama statement is an actual quote, then I vote for impeachment! If it's fiction, fire the deputy....

The joke is no big deal in itself. However, for a police officer to do that sort of thing on the job is wrong and asking for trouble. The police mentality kicked in when the dope sent it out to other officers....I`m god on the streets, your judge and jury, so here read this.

Fire the pig.

The cop should be let go for sheer cluelessness. To not realize, in this day and age, that members of "protected classes" are hyper-sensitive whining crybabies who are "victims" with a chip on their shoulder is just stupid. Why anyone would want to be a cop or serve in the military escapes me. This society isn't worth serving or defending.

The deputy is probably just dumb.

Wow!! Give me a break!! First off sending an e-mail to fellow co-workers does not make one a racist. All of you liberal tree huggers need to relax. For those who claim to be victims of racists cops, I say to you move down south and then you might see how really good you really have it here.

OMG! That is funny as chit and you know damn well that they were all laughing about it.

Bellows will give him the old, "Hey Tim, I need to do something so I look like the grand leader that I am. You are going to get a letter of reprimand in your file. Now, let me ask you this, Whats the difference between a black guy and a white guy that sell drugs?-ones a pharmacist and the others a drug dealer!'"

Back to the sixties? I'd argue that with all the hyper sensitive whine-burgers in Minnesota that we never left the "I;m a victom" 60's. And NO, "Whine-burger" is not intended to be an insult to people of Jewish descent.

I wish the self appointed leaders of the minority community would spend less time being outraged and more time in the community fixing problems, so that his joke would not be an absolutely correct observation.

Don't worry, Tim. Just write a book about how you were set up by the liberal Democrats and/or the media. I am absolutely certain you can springboard this into a position of leadership within the Tea Party. You might even be able to land a joint book signing tour with Ms Palin. She is bound to release another in anticipation of her White House run. Heck, you might be the next VP candidate! Your qualifications are obvious. Get out the shades, man, you got the golden ticket!

It's pretty obvious you can't do these things at work.

Anyone see the comedy movie "Eddie Murphy Raw?"

I thought it was funny and was not offended.

You can google some of the more memorable lines.

I say people of all colors need to lighten up.

Spend one day in Dakota county courts and you will see the disparity between how laws are enforced against the white population in Dakota county versus the black population. I am glad this email was released because its well known in the legal community that racism is prevalent in the Dakota county law enforcement, and this just proves it. If this cop felt comfortable sending this email from a State computer to other State employees, god only knows what he does when he is patrolling the streets and no one can track his actions. If the Sheriff really wants to protect Dakota county, this cop should be fired, and the Sheriff should see that the cop is permanently banned from law enforcement in Minnesota. But that wont happen - instead he will get some paid leave (vacation on tax dollars), and when the news isn’t watching anymore, he will also get a pat on the back in support and a 'sorry you got caught' talk.

The joke is not the point. If I being a person of color, sit down and make light of stupid racial stereotypes with my close friends who are not persons of color then stay out of my business! That is the way that racism in this country is defeated.
However, if you are a cop in one of the most racist departments in the state.(Minority officer populations excluded) then you have got to be intelligent enough to know that you do not send this email out on a computer system that is funded by the tax payers. Black, White, Latino etc. How dare you idiots assume that the only people paying taxes in Dakota County are Caucasian and all of the people of color should be seen and not heard? This is what is outrageous. You wear the uniform then you better be un-bias.

I believe that before we all judge something we must first know all the facts!!!!! there is always something from these kinds of stories thats missing..... i disagree that we need to call for his job yet only because this kind of thing happens every single day in the work place, arguably so i understand he is a "CITY OFFICIAL" but we all need to lighten up and realize that in this day in age people are extra sensitive and if this offends you, you must not watch TV or listen to radio Because there all multiple things that are far more worse than this Obama joke!!!! that being said the Deputy should be held accountable but RECEIVE A 2ND CHANCE!!!!!! If you disagree voice it now!!!!

In the politically correct world there is no humor allowed. This is how they are taking away our personal freedoms(and thoughts) one by one and day by day. Wecome to Obama's New America and you better like it.

People make mistakes. I'm sure there have been mistakes made by everyone everyday in the work place. It doesn't make anyone dumb or racist for that matter! He made a mistake just as we all do and I don't feel it's appropriate to be calling this poor man, dumb or a pig. It's sad you can't make a simple mistake with out people calling you horrible things. I feel bad for this cop and for his family. Who ever leaked this to the media is the one at fault in my opinion.

I think it was funny, although it probably should not have been sent out at work. It certainly was not original as I have seen that same joke probably 20 times on the internet. Nothing racist about it. No different than Polish, Norwegian, or any other ethnic joke. People need to lighten up a little. The City of Minneapolis is going to allow a beer being sold called Grain Belt Nordeast. what is the difference?
