By the times the executions will take place, 29 years, 26 years, and 22 years respectively will have passed. So what's the rush?

Great point! I'm all for capital punishment, but not like this. Waiting 3 decades doesn't send any kind of message. With DNA, security cameras, and clear evidence, I'm not sure why we don't have expidited death penalties for capital murder cases. I know people are afraid of wrongful death suits but I just don't see that happening with today's cases. In 20 years I don't think it will be like it is today where DNA is clearing people from crimes they were found guilty of.

• Reginald Brooks took 29 years to carry out the death sentence.

• Charles Lorraine took 26 years to carry out the death sentence.

• Michael Webb took 22 years to carry out the death sentence.

Each murderer cost us millions to house, clothe, feed, provide medical and legal expenses and received more consideration than their victim(s). Why does the taxpayer continue to foot the bill for all the bleeding hearts? All appeals for death sentences should be fast tracked to be completed within 5 years and then carried out if the appeals failed.

I think there should be more than one execution method. Bring on the electric chair, firing squad and hanging. Let the victim's family choose the method. Also they should make the execution more public. Charge $50 a head to watch in person or simulcast, half the money goes to the state to cover the cost of the execution and the other half goes to the victim's family. Also if there is video or clear DNA evidence the execution date should be no more than 2 years after the verdict, without Video or DNA the sentence should be carried out no more than 7 years after the verdict. And in the cases of clear guilt the offender should be able to fast track the process if he/she chooses and make the sentence be carried out in 30 days.

Frank Spisak... He killed people in 1982 and they are just getting around to the execution. How much was spent on keeping this killer alive all these years? And our state and ation wonders why we are broke.

Answer to the previous comment. Liberals feel the need to keep spending the money to keep killers alive.

I am sick and tired of liberals or conservatives being blamed for everything. Do what is right for all of us

Everyone on deathrow for more then 10 years needs executed today! I have a rope in my basement I will give to the state free of charge. I will also donate my evening to help build the gallows on the statehouse lawn if they need help. Hang'em High.

Tell me why the Ohio Supreme Court sets only one execution per month? This means these monsters, who've already spent 20 to 30 years on death row, get to live nearly another full year (if they are even executed at all).

What a joke Ohio Supreme Court! What a kick in the stomach to surviving victims and family members of those so brutally slain. Quit pussy footing around and have these scum killed within a month.

When killers in Georgia have their last appeal denied they are scheduled to die within 15 days.

You wait and see. The county prosecutors want to avoid an expensive trial paid for by county taxpayers so they will strike a plea bargain with him for a guilty plea to a lesser charge, take the death penalty off the table and he will go to an Ohio prison for the rest of life shifting the burden from the county to the state taxpayers. Mark my words. Knox county did the same thing recently to avoid the cost of a trial.
