I am almost certain that most Commonwealth Attorneys misconduct themselves. They will all do whatever it takes to get a conviction, even if that means asking witnesses to lie.

I thought the case sounded a little weak. I hope these new developements will put Scroggin's case back on the radar with Reynolds and McDaniel. You just can't ignore that small window of time between crimes, not to mention the close proximity of the known crime scenes. We really need to solve these three. Someone please speak up! Tell someone in law enforcement what you think or know.

I strongly disagree. But I will also say the biggest problem the commonwealth attorneys do have is the fact they believe all the lies cops tell them. This has been going on since forever.

The resignation tells us everything we need to know. This whole state is crooked. Someone needs to take a close look at Harrisonburg. CROOKED!!!!!!

Sounds like Close and his gang are running for cover. Looks like they will be going to prison if the facts of this story are played out. This is getting better by the minute! Gotta stay tuned.

I must respectfully disagree. As a defense attorney in this area for almost twenty years, I believe I can say that virtually all of the Commonwealth Attorneys in this area are honest, decent people trying to do their job to the best of their ability. While I often disagree with them in a particular case regarding their position, I have never had occasion to question the integrity of the Commonwealth Attorney or their respective staff in Greene, Charlottesville or Albemarle.

When the prosecutor in Greene dropped the charges against the game warden after charging him with manslaughter, a lot of people in Greene lost all respect for him, and those like him. This is a fact, not an opinion.

You must not have known Jim Chamblos in Albemarle. One of the main reasons he was booted out of office was the fact he believed every word a cop spoke to him and in court. I believe it also caused him to lose the appointment to the Circuit Court bench a few years back. Fellow taxpayers and citizens that I know and trust have voiced the same opinion I have here.

It is wonderful that this young man has been given his freedom. If there is proof of knowable misconduct then everyone involved should face the appropriate charges. It's just the right thing to do.

Any respectful commonwealth attorney should NEVER trust police for truth & facts, they are required to verify and protect the interest of justice for both sides. Corrupt attorney's can become corrupt judges. The system will never become honest, it's run by humans. Look at the Hash case. Just imagine if this was your son what would you say or do?.
