It's obvious that this interview has been in the can for a while since it makes no mention of Senator McCain's stunning decision to choose Alaska Governor Saran Palin as his vice presidential running mate, an historic development which has dramatically changed the dynamics of the presidential election and astonished the nation and the world. It's poor editorial judgment to run it without updating it, especially since Hurricane Gustav has effectivelly washed out the Republican National Convention.

It's also an ironic statement on the Erie Times-News's focus on what even the reporter who conducted this interview says about conventions: "They lack news value -- that not much happens beyond speech making and partisan cheering."

So why waste this time and space on it, while failing to make Rep. Evans and his other local state House colleagues accountable for their actions pertaining to some of the much more important issues facing them, such as the on-going investigation by the attorney general into the state House bonusgate scandal; the weak "freedom of infomation law," so-called, which the legislature passed earlier this year exemptimg themselves from its requirements; other critically-needed legislative reforms, including reduction in size of the bloated Pennsylvania General Assembly by at least half its 400-plus members, the largest and one of the best compensated in the nation, its members paid for fulltime occupation, but occupied only part-time with their responsibilities and duties.

Why, also, would Rep. Evans take time out to travel with Senator McCain's campaign throughout Pennsylvania when the General Assembly is about to open a truncated nine-day session in Harrisburg to deal with issues important to all Pennsylvanians? He's already planning to go to the convention in St.Paul Minnesota to the extent that it materializes.

Shouldn't he be interacting with his local constituents with respect to their immediate legislative concerns? The interiewer didn't even raise this salient question. And who will pay for the trip, the McCain campaign or Pennsylvania taxpayers who pay Rep. Evan's and other legislators handsome salary and perks?

No mention of your energy policy? Your amendment to make burning tires classified as renewable like wind and solar. The amendment that you withdrew just last month but will try and bring it up again soon. The amendment that you said had nothing to do with the worlds largest tire incinerator that your best bud Rubino and McCormick wants to build. The same Rubino that has given you over $15,000 in donations. How much will the reports being filed this month show that Rubino, McCormick or their lobbyists gave you in the new cycle? Some politicians are giving Rubino’s money back.

First of all look at how Johnny Boy got into office - The former rep got in trouble (some one rolled on her) and all of a sudden there is JB(Johnny Boy)-(first time in history a sitting governor ever endorsed a canidate in a primary) so after JB wins the first thing he does is to vote for the governor's huge pension increase for state employees and teachers - now fast forward to the pay raise grab - JB says he could make more in private industry than as a legislator - but does he go to private industry (is that your final answer) of course the republicans try to make a show of it by running Carol Loll who couldn't win dogcatcher outside of Fairview Twp, and the dem canidate was a non threat. So JB gets the support of the teachers and JB's campaign manager buys the House of Edinboro building and guess who moves their offices there - if you gussed the PSEA go to the next level. JB should be ashamed of himself by paradin g around in front of vets - like he really respects them - just counting the votes right JB - what has he done for his district - 0, nada, nothing.
Great representative JB - oh by the way why did you move from Edinboro to Crawford County -- it doesn't have anything to do with your ex wife getting the property does it? Until people see him as he really we are stuck with him. Follow the trail from newscaster to representative - all of sudden there is JB - you note that he doesn't say much in front of the cameras - tongue is too tires from alll the boot licking he has to do to keep __________ happy!
