More biodiesel BS. On our opinion, you are being used. Very few biodiesel plants can make any money these days using Camelina. When it was brought to the biodiesel plants attention, their past president rejected it and then resigned abruptly. When they claimed they wanted to plant it out at the Ohio airport property, they never did. Ask the Ohio airport what happened.

Is this another way of promoting their biodiesel plant with out any results? Is this another way of putting a good face on a bad feedstock, no demand situation? Or, is this just more of their usual spin.(Encourage you to look at all the past Erie Times Press Releases about their claims.(hint) All US biodiesel plants can not make any money even with the $1 tax credit. They are all having feedstock problems. Either the prices are too high or they can't get it. Many are shutting down. In the US, they are running around 20 percent of capacity. There is limited supply of Camilina. It ususally takes about three years to get enough to use. What farmer in his right mond is gowing to take the risk of growing Camelina when biodiesel plants continue to shut down. Even if they could grow it, it does not cost that mush less than soy or palm. There are only two low cost feedstocks that biodiesel plants might be able to use, but their a feww years off. If there is no demand for biodiesel, who wants to pay $6 per gallon?

This biofuel plant in Erie is a joke - we are trying to make alternative fuels to help us replace oil coming from the Middle East and make us more self sufficient
and what do they do? The 2 loads of biofuel that have come out of the plant so far have been sent to Europe - now just who is that helping? I'm sure its satisfying the GREED of the owners of the biofuel plant but not the average American taxpayer - and I'm guessing the government [meaning us taxpayers] helped subsidize this plant to get started so we're getting worked over twice! This is a disgrace!!!!!

Throughout history, food for fuel has always produced disaterous results..We are already seeing the trickle down effect of higher corn and wheat prices. It actually takes mroe energy to produce a gallon of biofuel than to burn a gallon of gas.

It will be disasterous if we focus more on biofuel production, aside from the faulty energy equation. It takes two gallons of water to produce one gallon of ethanol. Half of the world is experiencing water shortages.

Why would they care if half of us die?

There is no US market for biodeisel at $6/gl. Thats why it is being shipped to Europe.

And Europe is going supprting anti-dumping laws to stop biodiesel sales to Europe. If you can't sell biodiesel here and you can't sell biodiesel in Europe, maybe they can make a new kind of biodiesel drink?
