First off, let me start by saying this... Had that been anyother man that had allegedly assaulted his wife, Mr. Kelly would've gone to jail. Period! No, since he was the "Chief" he was questioned and released. What kind if world do we live in? He is not above the law. In fact as person whos responsibility is to uphold the law, to serve and PROTECT, he should've been held more accountable for his flat out disrespect for the laws that he is suppose to enforce. What about the rights of his wife, to not have to feel threatened in her own home. I dont care what type of person she is, what kind of things that she may or may not do, if people think she asked for in some sort of way, no one has the right to push, slap, kick, punch, even call names, IT IS ALL ABUSE! And no one deserves that. There are women out there right now that are too afraid to take their babies and leave for fear that they will be killed. Domestic violence goes unreported more than you know and these poor women are often forced to kill or be killed. Have you ever been abused? I have and it took nine years to get me and my children out. Why did I stay so long? Fisrt you stay because of the fear and then after a while you begin to believe that you desreve nothing better. It breaks your self-esteem and leaves you dead inside. His wife's right to be protected from her own husband were violated, even more because he knew better. Im glad he was fired and that poor woman should sue the pants off the police department. SHAME ON YOU DAVID KELLY! SHAME ON OFFICER KEITH! SHAME ON BAY! SHAME ON CRAIGHEAD CO.!

Hi to Black Oak,AR. I agree 100 percent with you.I was abused for 30 years to a man who was nice to everyone else but his own family who he treated as he owned us and so he could do what ever he felt like. During my divorce,he had the money and a lawyer who was a friend of the judge who somehow got my case when he wasn't suppose to,I wonder how?hum? But anyway my x paid the small town police officers to hurass me. Do I know for sure he paid them? Well anything I said was as if I was talking to a wall and everything he did he got away with and my statement that I signed when he broke my arm disapeared from the police station and when my lawyer asked for a copy of it that sent over a typed statement that had been altered. What happened to my hand written signed statement I wrote out that night? This town I live in has crooked cop's and a crooked mayor and they all need to be replaced. They think they are the law and they are above the law and it does not apply to them or their friends or anyone who wants to hand out a couple thousand.

These people are worse than the "CRIMINALS" that they put behind bars! They should be under the jails. Police chiefs that abuse their positions seems to be popular lately. Stealing drugs, Assaulting wives, taking bribes, sexual misconduct! If the police are doing these things and Im sure that they are, why else would they have lost their jobs? GUILTY! GUILTY! GUILTY! Why hasnt Craighead Co. Sheriff filed charges? Why are they protecting this woman beating ass? They are just as much to blame if thta man hurts her or worse. Women die! There are laws that are set into place to protect us from abusive husbands and boyfriends and for those men out there that have been abused as well. Along time ago a woman was brutally attacked in front of an OFFICER OF THE LAW ans stabbed nearly to death by her husband leaving her paralized and scarred. In front of the officer. He did NOTHING. didnt even try to stop it! That is why men go to jail when a call is made and that is why the state decides to press charges if the woman declines to. For the protection of the woman being abused, because she may lack the courage to do what should be done. Being manipulated to believe you deserve it is abuse as well. Emotional abuse. Its vicous and is a complete travisty to know that she was not protected because he was a so-called Police Chief. You people are completely incompetent. He shouldve been arrested and put in jail and charged with domestic violence. TO all that think he is innocent you are either stupid or ignorant, you dont know what goes on behind closed doors! you cant truely know a person unless you are with them, live with them, behind closed doors sometimes lerks monsters. These monsters are sometimes, what appears to be good, upstanding, gentle people (btk serial killer for example). You just never know!

I totally understand what youre saying, i was in an abusive relationship for 4 years but the abuse only went on for 1 of those four years, i grew some balls and told him id kill him if he didnt leave. i had said that before but that time he saw the insane almost hatred in my eyes. it scared him and he later said he was afraid id kill him in his sleep hahahaha.... however i do know for a fact that david did not hit his wife. nicole admitted to officer kieth that she did hit david in the groin area slapped him and threw a cell phone and hit him in the face with a cell phone. the worst david did was ask for his car keys. she freaked out and was screaming at him and then she was turning to walk away and david put his hand on her shoulder. he didnt even grab her he only sat his hand on her shoulder and was gonna say wait i need my keys so i can leave, but he didnt have time. before he could get the first word out of his mouth she had already spun around and thrown the phone the slapped him and hit his you know what lol she just went bullistic. i think she was just on edge because she knew the stuff she was screaming at him was pushin all the wrong buttons and she knew that had it been a girl shed of had her azz knocked off by that time... so she over reacted because dave is an awfully big guy. the one being scolded here i think is her... yeah shes small and shes not nearly as strong as dave, but that doesnt make it ok. think of dave like a woman and nic a man you... the roles are reversed here... men who suffer from spousal abuse whether it be one time or multiple times they still need support as much as women do. this is the gods honest truth im very close to both of them but what nic done was uncalled for and she should of handled her self in a better manner. but hindsight is 2020
oh yeah and as for the whole abused or battered women like us... it doesnt apply here. this was the first time they faught like that. and it was the man that was the victim.
