I have signed a petition for 2 years, nothing becomes of it. I will sign any and everything, if it would make the government do what it's suppose to do. Protect our borders!!! instead of rewarding the illegals.
p.s. In other countries if you are caught there illegal, you are put in prison.

I lived in Arizona for 25 years and can tell you it has gotten worse and worse every year. There are parts of the United Stated side of the boarder that people are told to stay out of because of drugs and people smuggling. It's a real problem that needs addressing.

But there is something that alot of people don't know about. Just because the are here working does not mean they are SPENDING that money here. Almost ALL of he money an illegal immigrant makes is sent to Mexico, thus making the Mexican economy thrive as ours gets worse.

Think about it people, they work here for less money, then send that money to Mexico causing our economy to suffer in many ways. It has to stop!

I have no problem with someone going thru the correct channels to come to this country, but the ones here illigally need to be sent back until they have the correct paperwork. Because I can promise you that you can't go to other countries and stay just because you want to, or have a baby there.

It has to stop, and for some reason our government doesn't want to step up and do what the constitution says. So take note people as to who is backing the constitution and who isn't and make sure you vote accordingly, because this is still OUR country!

Authorities have begun "silent raids" in which federal agents are auditing companies' records and pointing out who should be fired, the New York Times reports.

While previous snap raids have resulted in the immediate deportation of thousands of illegal workers, the new raids usually end up with employees getting fired, but often not having to leave the country. They also have a wider reach, looking at all of a firm's employees, not just the ones who happen to be on duty when federal agents turn up.

Immigration officers have scanned the books of more than 2,900 companies in the past year, and levied a record $3 billion in civil fines on any who've hired illegal workers, the paper reported Friday.

"Instead of hundreds of agents going after one company, now one agent can go after hundreds of companies," Mark K. Reed, president of Border Management Strategies, an immigration law consulting firm in Tucson, told the Times. "And there is no drama, no trauma, no families being torn apart, no handcuffs."

Gov. Nathan Deal says he'll sign a tough immigration measure passed by the Georgia Legislature that includes elements similar to a contentious law enacted in Arizona last year.

In an interview Friday with The Associated Press, Deal said the legislation "sends a signal that the citizens of our state believe the rule of law in important."

The bill passed late Thursday, hours before the end of Georgia's 2011 legislative session.

Deal said he did not think Georgia measure would lead to boycotts or harm businesses. He says he hopes it will "send a message to members of Congress that it's time for them to get serious about the issue."

Among other provisions, it authorizes law enforcement officers to verify the immigration status of certain criminal suspects and allows them to detain those found to be in the country illegally.
