Many schools across the country were been built on top of closed dumps (landfills) containing cancer-causing chemicals. Has there been historical research of Robert Gray Elementary School to determine if the property was formerly a dumpsite?

Are residents still looking for the cause of the cancers?

I do not live in your State, nor do I get your Paper. Today, the ILLINI 4000, Group of Students from the U. Of ILL. will arrive in your City on their way to Portland Org. They left N,Y, on June 28th and will arrive in Portland on the 2nd of Aug.This represent the ride for Cancer research of over 4000 miles in 60 plus days. There are about 26 students, the 3rd year the ILLINI 4000 has done this, calling it Fighting Cancer on Tw0 Wheels...you may be interested in interviewing them..no trouble identifying, all riding bicycles, with identifying riding gear, and a Van traveling with them...I would love to come back tomorrow to this sight and see an interview done.
One of the riders is my Grand son,21 yr old Justin Taylor
Thank you

While money for cancer research is important, not enough money or attention is focused on finding and correcting the environmental causes of cancer. Prevention is key.

Finding out if there is an environmental cause of the cancers is as important as finding a cure. A 100-year chain of title of Robert Gray Elementary School property and research of old maps will provide information as to whether the land was previously used as a dumpsite.
