That is what many people have wondered. According to the police, from the local tv newscasts, the body was in good shape. If they cannot determine an identity from a body in decent shape, then our police are a bunch of idiots. I'm sure that the identity of the body was drawn out as long as possible because that's just the way the police department in Ark City works! They are not going to get in any hurry about anything. I'm sure you are aware it took them until Monday before bringing in search dogs when Jodi disappeared on Friday tell me if I am wrong.

Here is the thing...unless you have ALL the facts I dont think you should blame the Police or the ME for anything and im guessing no one but the ME and the Police have all the facts. Why didnt they ID the Body right away? We wont know. I think they did a very good Job getting the Justin guy in custody.

They got the guy in custody, but the fact is, he should have been in custody when the murder took place. He was arrested originally on New Year's weekend for impersonating a police officer, but when he complained of chest pains, they took him to the hospital and left him. Any other normal police department would have made sure an officer was with him the entire time! Not Ark City....they left him there, free to walk out of the hospital. Had they stayed with Justin and taken him back to the police department once he was released from the hospital, and made the arrest hold, Jodi would probably be alive today.
Instead, it took another 5-6 days for the police department to say, "Oh, yeah, we've got an arrest warrant on this guy...we forgot he probably should've been arrested several days ago. We better arrest him for impersonating a police officer now that we have a disappearance/murder in our town and he may be linked to it!"

I feel for her family. I hope and pray they see the faults the police department have caused and file a lawsuit against them. The police department should pay for their stupidity and the loss of an innocent life!

i lived in A.C. untill recently. what a lot of people dont know about when it comes to justin thurber is that he idolized law enforcement. he allways talked about wanting to be a cop, and according to some people i know would inform to them about illeagal things going on it town.
i beleive the reason he was not in jail on the impersonation charges was due to that the comming months the A.C.P.D and county prosicuters office will have to answer a lot of questions as to the relationship they had w/ thurber.

the primary reason i moved from A.C. is because of the absloute two facedness of town and county officials. who would coddle a murdering rapist in order to keep thier arrest record high. i hope it gets them all fired and discraced.

This has nothing to do with Jodi Sanderholm's murder. I just seen how everyone was dogging the AC police department. One of my twins passed at 28 days. They tried to blame me and my husband that we killed her. I'm sorry but i am not no psycho path. I have two other children besides the one that passed on. One week later after my daughters death, one of our neighbors broke into our house and stole well over $40,000 worth of mine and my husbands things. They have evidence and know who did it. We have received some of the items back they have been recovered. My husband had about 5 guns and have gotten none of them back. This break in was in march of 06 and still to this day, march 07 they have done nothing. there is no warrant out for this guy, the county attorney DOES NOT return our phone calls. So yes the ACPD does not do a good job and specifically the county attorney, chris smith. I wish like hell some one would do something about it.and the guy that did it has had many other charges filled against him
