I recently moved to Senoia into a nice subdivision. It's a nice family oriented community in which seemed very comfortable. I've lived here less than 6 months and the noise is rediculas.
Doesn't Coweta have some kind of noise ordinance? Should I really have to listen to a neighbor using a bobcat at 10pm at night to dig up his back yard for asthetic purposes?
I have kids and understand kids like to laugh, play and cut up, but is it fair to me, a home owner that I have to listen to them screaming bloody murder in their driveway at 7am? Or shooting hoops (that tend to hit my house occaisionally) late into the evening?
I really don't want to have a nasty confrontation with my neighbors, but I to expect the same respect in return that my family has shown to them. So what's the deal here?

No they don't... they rely on the state ordinance that starts at midnight for residents. If noise/ music is from a car the sheriff can stop it at anytime. I know how it feels to be forced to listen to somthing you don't want to hear like loud VULGAR music...

I have neighbors that as I type this live 4 houses down and are blasting music so loud I can hear each lyric on my house with the windows closed and a TV blaring. I have called the CCSO out here several times and the resident started yelling at a deputy once when I called at 4 am telling the deputy that it was a Saturday and he can play as loud as he wants on the weekend as late as he wants. CCSO refuses to do anything to help and I have been referred to attempting to have the house declared an unruly home. When I told a deputy that he laughed and said that unless they were dealing drugs or some other illegal activity that there was no way I was going to be able to prove that.
So I am a homeowner, these residents are renters... my home value has been lowered, the real estate market is in the toilet and I am supposed to just sit back and take this or continue to call the deputies out when they ahould be out patrolling or responding to a higher priority call. Our county government is failing miserably in taking care of law abiding residents that actually pay taxes. I am now recording every incident and getting an open records request for every time I have had to call a deputy out here... I want to present it to the county commissioners and their answer will help determine who I vote for and support come election time.

I am in Sharpsburg in the County of Coweta and I guess I'll take out my frustration on this blog. I have renters living next door to me with four boys in a three bedroom house. as you might imagine there is always some disturbance taking place. Either they are out moving around past curfew, shooting fireworks, or destroying everything with their bb guns. I have called the pound on their dog who poops on my front porch which did nothing, he still roams free to poop wherever. The worst part is when the 4th grader comes home to an empty house and knocks on my door crying wondering where his mom is and if we can call her. I try not to complain but enough is enough! The homeowner should be held responsible.

I also live in Coweta County... There is a general noise ordinance that is in effect from 10pm to 7am during the week and on weekends until 9am. The police has to stop these folks if the noise happens during these times. Other wise a civil suit could be brought upon them. Just continue to all the police, eventually they'll tire of not doing anything... One would hope

My neighbor's "adult" children ride four wheelers into the night. Granted, they stay off the streets and on their own property it is still offensive that they run them for hours on end and into the night. How expensive does gas have to get before they find another hobby?

My neighbor got his 8 year old a four wheel dune buggy for Christmas, and he runs it on Sunday for hours and after 5 PM until dark on the weekdays. How much more do we have to put up with before our County Commissioners do something about this nuisance.

I live in Barrington Farms which used to be a super nice community until we had an HOA which does absolutely nothing. I have renters that moved in next door to me who have five children in a three bedroom home that make lots of noise and trouble, cuss me out and bully parents my kids. The parents have the same behavior and burn a smoke fire 24-7 so that my property has become unusable and my house constantly smells of smoke. They also have several dogs that bark non stop, a squealing pig, and birds. I have contacted the fire department and sheriff several times with no help. The landlord is now involved but even they are having a hard time getting rid of them. Any advice?

After 5pm until dark.... well that is not really late. I can understand if someone is playing loud music but riding a 4-wheeler. Please. If you want to live in a place with no noice move out in the country and put your house in the middle of 10 acres. Please relize that children will make noice.... oh the joyful noice of children. I am a grandma and don't have kids at home but love to hear the neighbor kids playing and having fun. This is called living life people!

Really people? Everyone that complains about kids playing in THEIR yard, needs to move. I am so tired of everyone bashing kids in this county. My home was the hangout for kids for years, and I loved it. What would you rather did? Run in gangs, robbing people, sell drugs, or playing in THEIR OWN yards? I would rather have my home full of kids, running around, playing, and making noise, than not knowing where they are. As for music, if it was a song or genre you liked would you complain? Finally, for animals barking, yeah they do that, deal with it. Get off the high horse people, I am sure you annoy the crap out of people too with the uptight, holier than thou attitudes
