Question For Mr Presta

Arlington Heights, IL

#1 Mar 21, 2013
After reading Mr. Kadner's article, I ask myself this question. If Lou Presta honestly did not know that they were commingling Lake Michigan water we bought from Alsip with the contaminated well water, why then didn't he ever question how we could pay less than Alsip does for the same water? Year after year in almost every Crestwood Adviser that was mailed to every home in the village Mr. Chester Stranczek boasted about how Crestwood residents and businesses paid the lowest rates around for our water? It boggles my mind that in the 20 some years he has been an elected trustee that he or any other trustee never once questioned it? They knew that the village wasn't picking up part of the cost otherwise we would have heard about that just like our tax rebates. As a trustee isn't part of their job to know about the finances of the village?
This for one scares me. If Mr. Presta didn't know and he wasn't smart enough to question it, I would think twice before I"d vote for him.
Secondly, if Presta didn't know, than none of the other trustees knew either? I really find it hard to believe that the only people who knew were Chester, Theresa and Frank S.

I would ask you the same question. If it was published in the Adviser as you said why did you not question it? It is very easy to point fingers now John but why didn't you ask the same exact questions you are asking Presta? If it was printed in the Adviser please do not use the excuse he was a trustee and I wasn't. You by your own admission had all the info. Now remember just because what the residents were charged less then wha Alsip was charged has nothng to do with it. Alsip can charge their residents what ever they deem necessary. That doesn't necessarily mean the residents were paying less for their water then what Alsip was charging. For a many number of reasons Alsip could have decided to charge their residents X amount for capital improvement of their own water system which is much larger then Crestwoods.

After reading Mr. Kadner's article, and many of his others, I ask myself these questions
1. What is Phil Kadner's relationship with John Toscas?
2. Why does Phil Kadner spend so much ink repeating Toscas' campaign talking points?
3. Do they currently or in the past, sat on boards together?
4. Is Phil just supporting a fellow lawyer?
5. If there were complaints filed with Lisa Madigan about the open meetings act, what hasn't Mr. Kadner followed up with her?
6. Why does Mr. Kadner take what John Toscas tells him and prints it, without doing any of his own research, fact-finding or follow-up interviews?
7. Is Phil Kadner AND The SouthTown Star (and by extension the Sun Times) endorsing John Toscas?
I ask these questions because someone has to.

Maybe your answer should be questioned by the Feds in the upcoming trial for Theresa and Frank. They could subpena Alsip's water billing records and find out exactly what Alsip charged their residents for the water. That way the Feds would have grounds to further investigate the employees of Crestwood that would know how much Crestwood paid Alsip for the water and also knew what Crestwood was charging it's residents and ask them why?

As I previously stated, one of the duties of an elected trustee is to oversea the finances of the very town he was elected to serve. If that was my job to look at the amount of money being spent on our towns drinking water, and the records showed a lower dollar amount was being collected from the water bills, I would definitely question it!!! It would be a question that anyone viewing the financial records would ask, or should I say SHOULD ask. Which apparently nobody did

Are you now going to tell me that the old trustees never went over or discussed finances at their meetings??? It's their job and that's what they were elected to do!!!!!!

Crestwood Resident -> No, I am neither of those people.

For a person throwing around allegations, it seems Mr. Kadner forgot to mention this little gem about Mr. Toscas. From Kadner's rival paper The Tribune:

This is for the vulgar and classless "Save Crestwood No Tos..." or should I say Brian... When you have no intellect, or in this case, no positive record like Presta, you can only resort to your crude language and baseless accusations to show that you are mindless and pathetic! When Presta loses because of people like you, you will learn to keep your mouth shut!

Instead of hanging out with my guys and gals on the Jersey Shore, I should have moved to Crestwood and run for mayor. I would have reopened the KFC and transformed that vacant parcel of land between 83 and the Cal-Sag into the Crestwood Shore.

This article needs to be read by all Crestwood residents who think Toscas is going to save them. John Toscas lied in the article that he didn't even remember Clyyd Petersen. Do you remember the 2 of you riding around the crestood soccer fields on your golf cart because neither of you could hack a walk across the field once. Both disguting, sweaty men. Exactly what full time position does Petersen hold in Crestwood? Very interesting that Toscac has ties to Lemont in more ways than one but now in steps Big Clyyd was he seriously the best they could find for $70K. Hell he couldn't save himself in a fire. Sorry to that town...

One: John Toscas is a man who can get stuff done. He does not say things will change and then they don't. He is 100% committed to keeping his promises for change and work tirelessly to make them happen. He will go above and beyond to bring the Village back on top. While the comments from ALL sides can be considered bashing, they do present factual information a good majority of the time. However, Mr. Presta has made guesses and unsupported promises. My best example at this time is he promises to bring back rebates. This is great, however he said we will TRY to bring them back. He also does not mention how much we will get back or how long it will take, if ever. Additionally, on his page, the cases from Lisa Madigan were brought up, cases which would add to our Village debt and legal fees. Mr. Presta responded that it is not a problem IF the cases are dismissed. He has thrown around a lot of IF's WHEN's and MAYBE's. I am very uneasy about this because none of those are for sure and can easily go the other direction. If so, what happens then? The Toscas side has produced some very factual information from taxes, finances, legal fees, and debts. I cannot argue with factual numbers from cited government and other credible sources. I can argue with words like if and maybe. Speaking to John Toscas' character, it is very easy to misinterpret his actions as him being a "douchebag" or "snob." He is a man who works with his job in mind, he has an objective and he tirelessly works to see it through which sometimes casuses that trouble, however, if you talk to him and pull him aside to speak you have his full attention and he is extremely respectful and listens. The man would never be in a situation to jeopardize his credibility. Some things he has mentioned is none of his family members will be part of Village politics if he were elected and for those who think he is a snob, he has promised to donate his entire mayoral salary to a cancer research organization. He does truly care about helping our Village, he would not be running if he didn't. His many positions in his past and current only make him that much more qualified to handle the many tasks ahead for putting our Village back on top. The man has a wealth of knowledge about law, government, finances, etc. I encourage anyone who does not like Mr. Toscas to review the New Leadership Party's platform, plans, and goals. Ultimately it is the Independent Party and New Leadership Party , see what each stand for. I have met all candidates and the qualifications and experiences that come from the New Leadership Party stand above those of the others (only my opinion) The biggest thing though and easiest to skip is do not interpret online posts or chats as bashing because in an online system you do not have emotions, tone of voice, facial expressions, or non-verbal cues to pick up on when reading the text on the screen like you would in a face-to-face conversation. The wrongs have to be righted before moving on and bringing Crestwood back into it's glory and I would like a candidate who can make a change of that caliber happen...(for me that would be Toscas) Everyone, please do your own research though and do not be swayed by online posts, yard signs, or empty words/promises. Be an informed voter.
