Rest in Peace Steffen Ryge. Sincere condolences to his family, I barely knew the guy, but he still managed to make a lasting impression as a great guy.

My heartfelt condolences to Steffen's family. I will always remember the joys we shared in den danske sommerskole, it would not have been the same without him. He will be greatly missed by anyone who encountered him, as Steffen was truly a great friend to all. I'm deeply upset by his loss, but am so happy that I had the oppurtunity the meet him 4 summers ago and continued to see him every summer until our last year. May he rest in peace and be remembered forever. xxx

I still can't believe this. I've left you a comment on your Myspace page Steffen, I'm sure you've found some way to log on wherever it is that you are :) I will be concentrating on the memories with you instead of putting my focus into your ridiculously terrible fate. I will always remember jamming with you at summer camp, the good old red hot chili pepper songs and that blues song you taught me. And the conversations, and everything else that goes with it. All my love and all the best, Martin.

I only got to know Steffen a short while ago one summer, but I can't believe that I, and the many people he has touched, won't have a chance to get to know him better. He will be remembered by all, Rest in peace.

I am in shock. I can't believe this has happened, it's so surreal. I remember meeting Steffen at Den Danske Sommerskole last year and he was such a great guy. Funny, charismatic, great musician. I'm very sorry to hear this and he will be missed. My condolences go out to his family. I'm sure he's probably jamming somewhere cool as we speak :))
Lots of love! xxx

Wow, thats cool. he was popular. doubt anyone would visit myspace if I died. course im a middle aged man.

Sorry to hear this. well, he isnt suffering now. He should have lived, but had he suffered greatly then passed, it would have been worst.

I remember Steffen clearly sitting across from me at breakfast at the danish summerschool. He was a great guy, never in a bad mood always laughing and always had something exciting to say. He really left an impact on me. I am in shock. I send out my condolences to his family, he really was amazing.

Just out of curiosity, Is Lafayette full of Danes? It seems a danish paper had covered his story, You comment about danish summerschool and some story partly in danish makes me wonder. I also have family by marriage from Danville who are danish. Is the walnut creek area full of danes?

Never noticed that before.

Hey Stef,
Had the most amazing dream ever last night. Dreamt you were still alive and none of this ever happened. I awoke to find it wasn't true, but I'd give anything to have those moments again. It's been nearly 4 years to the day and I can't think of a single day that has gone by and I haven't thought of you. You were such an important part of my childhood and I will carry of piece of you with me always. I just had to put this down in word and let you know how much you truly meant and will continue to mean to me. While I may not be the most religious of people, believing in an afterlife means I get to see you again.
køleskab :)
I miss you so much buddy, but I know in my heart that I'll see you again.
Continue to watch over me.

Just wanted to share a story about Steffen. We took Hoffman’s Calculus together in his senior year. I remember one day, we were playing some type of math jeopardy game and he, Scott Gaylord and I were on the same team. I lacked a little bit of self-confidence back then so when it came my turn to answer questions, I’d always whisper the answer before anyone else knew it but would hardly buzz in. Before one of the later questions, Steffen pulled me aside and firmly told me “Just do it”. Those words still resonate with me to this day. We went on to win that game. More importantly, my life was changed for the better thanks to Steffen. Miss ya always buddy.
