Dozens fall ill at Plano assisted living center

Brian Collins, the city's director of environmental health, confirmed that about 40 residents, staff and visitors at The Waterford at Plano , 3401 Premier Drive, have contracted what appears to be a type of viral illness.

The Waterford has not been forthcoming regarding the seriousness of the illness in advising elderly residents and their families, nor in advising as to corrective measures being taken. We have no faith that they will advise as to the source of the illness if it is determined. Had families been properly advised at the inset of the illness, perhaps family members could have been removed from the facility before becoming ill.
