I can't believe they acquitted him! Tell me, failure to yield to an authorized vehicle, speeding , unsafe movement, following too closely are all just ticketed offenses and not reckless driving? Go figure. Makes no sense that a semi driver can get away with all those offenses, almost kill a police officer and just pay a fine. Sorry, Sgt. Kelly. The law didn't work this time.

Does this really suprise anyone?

Here in Lafayette, a trucker can run over and murder an innocent motorcyclist, who was stopped at a red light, and walk away with a $130 ticket.

Here in Lafayette, truckers can run any red light they don't feel like stopping at, and the police don't even pull them over.

Did anyone honestly believe that because this happened one county to the south on the interstate that it would change anything?

I think the jury must have seen some flaws in the "STATE'S CASE"!
Just because he wsa an officer he didn't deserve special attention!
GOOD JOB JURY, THE WAY TO SERVE JUSTICE!

IT DIDN'T WORK FOR THE MOTORCYCLE RIDER IN LAFAYETTE.
A COUPLE YEARS AGO A STATE TROOPER ON HIS WAY TO A JOB INTERVIEW RAN A STOP SIGN AND KILLED AN OLDER WOMAN, AND HE DIDN'T EVEN GET A TICKET!
WHAT'S A WRONG WITH THAT PICTURE?
Are you kidding

how in the world can you find him quilty of the 4 infarctions that he was charged with and not quilty of the other two. it seems all the charges go hand in hand. you can pass a school bus that is stopped and be charged with reckless driving and the jury did not think this was reckless driving. hard to believe.

well maybe if they would get out there and actively pursue morons with semis then we wouldn't have these problems. but the usual response from Laf. Barracks is ya we got it blah blah

Not to mention the overweight moron that runs the state police is not going to do anything to help these boys get theirs jobs done. Sgt Kelly ur a hell of a guy, maybe if this douches family wasn't allowed to immigrate then you wouldn't have ever even been hurt. So there are two negatives to this, Indiana BS legal system, and immigration!
