Clay County has so much potential. If the young people had some place to watch a movie, bowl, oe even go skating ,many of our teens would learn to be social ,productive citizens of Clay County. Clay County has become a jobless, hopeless place to live unless you teach, go into the coal mines or have a family business that hires all your kin.
If you take a minimum wage job, your salary goes for gas just to get to the job.
Clay Countians that have money, businesses and property have had it handed down for generations by their parents, grandparents and have only added to the value. Others who have to work, rent, survive, are in a different category from day one.
Clay County needs to vote wet and keep what money and jobs they possibly can here locally for Clay Countians. If they want a drink, they will spend the money somewhere. Why not spend it at home and not have to be out on the roads and drive for many miles to put the economy of another county on the economic growth chart.

Like I said on another post, watch the goings on at the voting booth and of the election committee. Those actions will tell you the end result of the vote, no matter how many actual votes are cast. The actions at the voting booth by precinct officials altering votes (we know very well that most Clay Countians don't know how to successfully cast a ballot -- Dobber Weaver famously proved that one with fudged ballots) or in the election committee altering the final numbers could destroy the measure rather easily, don't forget that.

"the one" you are telling the truth the church members control the voting machines i really don't it will be a fair election the business at north end of town spending a lot money to keep dry buying signs and radio air time and other things alcohol sales is not hurt a hardware store or insurance or pizza sales so what do they have to gain by keeping manchester dry but i know one thing me and my family will never set foot in these stores no matter what the outcome of the election is

Excellent post. Thank you. If the people really cared about their votes, they would be all over the precinct workers. And, give me a break, don't give me no sh_t about how hard these poor workers labor all day. They get more than you know. These machines must be checked. The owners of these machines must be watched. They, now, do not have to answer to anyone. The voting machines CAN be fixed to register a vote that is already planned before you pull the lever. Please read some about the problems: www.black box voting. America will not ever be a democracy again as long as people allow these voting machine owners(the companies) to decide your vote before YOU vote.

Even in a place like Oregon, which now deals solely with mail-in ballots, leaves enough space to easily drive a Mack truck through when it comes to potential for vote fraud. My whole point is is that no voting method is absolutely perfect, and that anything made by man, voting systems included, can be bypassed or defeated.
