Ashley Cavner and Jessica Lee of Vancouver were the first same-sex couple camped outside the Clark County Public Service Center at 9 p.m. Wednesday to wait in line to claim a right denied to them until today: marriage between the same gender.

Ashley and Jessica are my best friends, and to see them getting to fulfill their dream of marriage makes me so happy. They are both absolutely beautiful people inside and out, and they deserve to be happy like anyone else.

Clark County overwhelmingly voted down same sex marriage. Evidently we were the only ones with good sense.
Just because Ashley and Jessica are able to marry doesn't make it right.
