I've been reading about this story from various local newspapers since it happened. Brandon's acting like the man he murdered made him commit the murder. Basically, Brandon was sued for sexually harassing a woman and she won. He was a jerk and she proved it in court.

The only thing that really happened to Brandon is that his pride was hurt. That's all. What a terrible price to extract from the families and friends of the murder victim just because a man got his pride dented in by his own laciviousness behavior that he was forced to account for publicly.

I lived in Port Gibson for several years. There is plenty of 'ho stuff going around for Brandon to have satisfied his dark nature. He didn't have to be a sexual pervert or a murderer. There were more socially acceptable outlets for him to release his 'need' without committing murder or bugging some woman who obviously didn't like his sort of attention.

I also have lived in Port Gibson, MS and repeatly Brandon had gotten away with things, just because of the contacts that he had in the Port Gibson community, and the authority figures that closed their eyes to his advanced and rational behaviors in the past. And I have always had this question in mind, how can Brandon take on the duty of Law Enforcement Officer, when he is in no way qualified to carrie out such means, and how can Law Enforcement Authorities in the claiborne County let him take this kind of authority just because he's Carl Brandon. What Brandon did was plainly pre-arranged, in taking a man's life, and going after other citizens, just because he has been doing for years, finally came to the light, and now who's to blame? Brandon himself, and I have come to realize that some citizens are sympathizing for him, good, only God judges, but did he realize the pain and the misery that he selfishly brought upon
the family of the man he murdered. He had a family just as Brandon did. He had no right to take this man's life. He had no right to go to this man's place of Business and take the actions that he did.

When I lived in the Port Gibson area back in the 80's, one of the men I knew who had the special deputies badge issued to some of the local "upstanding" citizens was also a small time drug dealer in the area. Seems some folks just slip through the cracks if they appear as decent citizens, but really aren't. I'm not surprised. The KKK did it for decades.

U dummy, maybe u didnt kno Mr.Brandon but i did. He would never purposely n his right mind hurt anyone or anything. he was a man who was repeatedly step on and drug through the mud. he urged others to hold their peace. Though he was a goodman, he was still just a man. and any may who's ego, pride, and humanity was constantly trample upon could lose state of mind and explode. Everyone knos what charges were brought against him but select few were there to witness what he really went through.

Do you realize that Carl also had a family? Did you ever ponder, that every night he went home he had some one there? Did you question that after having his name publicly humilated he too went home to face his family? Did his daughter be harassed when he was found guilty of sexual harassment? Did his son view him as a failure when he bowed to the harsh words of other? Stop assuming what you heard was true. There are those out there that can attest to Carl's goodness. Maybe you are only seeing past the bridge of your nose. Never judge a person's journey until you have followed the path of their footprints.
