I sure hope this doesn't pass. The county commissioners went ahead and based the budget on it passing, but until we get some honest people running those departments, they should not be trusted with anymore tax money.

Mrs. Pot, just this once, please do not hijack a thread and turn it into a legalize pot rant.
Thank you.
If you think you are more honest than the people in office, run for office and see what the public thinks. Many of the people running those departments are working hard and to the best of their abilities. It must be nice to be as perfect as you and be able to throw so many stones at others.

You called people liars. You are Mrs Pot and Mrs Kettle.
If you bothered to post, it was about cannabis or leading to changing the topic to cannabis. It is the only reason you post.

I called them dishonest, and here is an example. Driving around Ozark you see the huge yellow signs from the fire dept. saying vote yes - problem is, no tax increase is on the ballot for firefighters.People who haven't taken the time to look into the ballot measures will assume some of the money is going to them. That's being dishonest. Again, the only person on this thread discussing cannabis is you.

Increasing the number of firefighters on duty each shift and providing adequate equipment is not directly affecting the firefighters? How is this not for firefighters?

You were talking about the county commission to begin with. Your choice of example is not even the same topic. The county commission did not put those big yellow signs up. Maybe you should do some research before you state 'facts'.

According to KRGZ no tax increase for that is on Aprils ballot.

I'm really trying to not be insulting, but some firefighter PAC isn't just going to make and place those signs for the hell of it. Someone ,part of trying to get the tax increase passed, is working with the PAC to deceive voters. This kind of deal happens everyday from presidential elections, to local tax increases for the police.

According to the wording on the ballot, it is for support of the district. The firefighters themselves want this to pass so they can better cover their area and have proper equipment. How does 'KRGZ' know better than the firefighters it affects?
"Shall the Board of Directors of the Ozark Fire Protection District be authorized by levy an additional tax of not more than twenty-five cents on the one hundred dollars assessed valuation to provide funds for the support of the district?"

Keeping on track with your original post about the county commissioners would have meant you didn't drag the fire department into your "proof" of the dishonest county commissioners or the people who run the departments. I am not sure exactly who you were calling dishonest.

I'm sorry, it wasn't showing on the sample ballot I had seen. Should have known better then to trust a news site example. I still stand by what I said though, the politicians can not be trusted with more tax money.

I used to have a fireworks tent in Ozark. First year, just had to have the state fire marshal inspect. Second year, had to also have the fire department inspect. The latter spent less than a minute in the tent, just long enough for me to hand over the money order, and get my certificate. The state fire marshal actually checked to see if I was in compliance.

What does this have to do with dishonest commissioners and/or people running county departments?
A paid employee of the Ozark Fire Protection District did not do a thorough job in your one experience with that employee. Did you report him to his superior at that time? How is this related to the county?

Mrs Trish, I am extremely offended by the things you're saying about our firefighters? "Working with the PAC to deceive voters" ?!??? You need to be educated. Ozarkfire.org is a decent place to start. The firefighters you accuse of working with others to deceive voters are actually major stakeholders in the levy issue. If you ask the FF why its important, they may all give you a different answer.

Its about equipment and additional personnel.

I could write a small book about why the Firefighters need your support, but the world won't be a better place until Americans like you quit blaming politicians, and begin accepting your own responsibility to educate yourselves on the important topics of the day. Please discontinue speaking without knowledge. Its sad because others who also aren't willing to take the time to learn about things, will read what you write and believe it. Then its the firefighters and the families that need them who lose.
