I guess the best part of competition between the public and private insurance will be that it can bring down the excessive costs and raise the quality of service to survive particularly in private sector , therefore there is no need to worry about the expensive medical costs over time, as EUROPE tells it.

“Former Chittenden County Sen. Jim Leddy, who helped craft the landmark 2006 Vermont health reform legislation, is someone I rely on as a barometer of the political climate. He is a sensible guy who understands that the political process is not about perfection. That is why his mantra over the years has been, "We must not let the perfect be the enemy of the good."”
I remember Ralph Nader chewing me out about Tweedledum and Tweedledee, you can’t tell the political parties apart any more, was it Gore or was it Kerry, but he blasted me on my morality with always picking the least worst choice, or my decision that led to the failed election. He said and pointed his finger directly at me, that I did not have the courage of my convictions to always pick the best choice no matter what the out come.
In other words, it was my responsibility to make sure the best choice is in the election...not the least worst.
He grates at me some times.
So that is what we have become as a nation, the least worst...or just good enough?
