Time for states to chip in

There are 4 comments on the The Indianapolis Star story from Apr 4, 2007, titled Time for states to chip in. In it, The Indianapolis Star reports that:

"If something's free, I'll take two," a mentor of mine once said. His point was that people don't value things they don't pay for, especially things the government "gives" them.

Why work? Section 79 pays the rent. Food stamps buys the food. Free schools that provide breakfast and lunch. No book rental. Free medical care. Work 5 hours a week at Wendy's and get over $6000 a year in "earned income tax credit" on your tax return. I could go on and on. Like social security soon the lazy welfare rats will outnumber the working fools that has to pick up the tab. Has it really helped anybody? Look at the drug use and crime. As a society we do for the lazy bums what we wouldn't do for our own kids. We know it would ruin them.

Leave it to the conservatives to complaint about money being misused when they got us into a War of CHOICE that it is costing us 10 BILLION dollars per Month...They rather wage war than to take care of children at home....STOP the HYPOCRISY

If you think Bush is a conservative and a patriot you then think Hitler had ovens for baking pies.

I am a conservative grew up will little family income though my parents worked hard. We would have starved litterly before asking for governmental help.
It is a was not honorable. Now how ever our ever loving govenment has decieded to give all away because "if feels good" when they really are addicting our citizens to their reliance. If the poloticians would quit the give aways to both the corporate and private sector we would not need welfare. It amazes me how we just can not do anything with out needing govermental assistance.

Much of this give away is corporate wellfare to aid illegal aliens. These corporations need to loose their corporate status and be put out of business now!!!

I am a Vet and I will tell you to your face bush has not a clue when it comes to this war he was to drunk to remember what our men faced in Vetnam. So do not think we conservatives are all for a war which was poorly planned and poorly executed. A war is not over till the winner says it is we refuse to win this war and I was sure we would use the same political solutions to this war as we did in Vietnam.
