Mr. Santulli will never get my vote because of what the said in the Star Gazette. I paraphrase: We can't let this opportunity go because someone wants 3 times the assessed value. Well that's easy for him to say, he's not the one having his land taken away. In my opinion, if you don't want to sell it the value goes up.

Has anyone asked why this land needs to be taken by "eminent domain"? That is, why did the Fortune 100 developer not simply make an offer on the land directly to the Johnson family? After Kelo, local governments are using "eminent domain" to acquire land at below market price so that it can be given to another private owner (at least until the gov't decides to give it to someone else). This is done to sidestep the free market. The Kelo decision was blatantly unconstitutional and an affront to the principles upon which this nation was founded. This is NAKED TYRANNY.
