Firing Attorney Smith and hiring Martha Brooke Perry is the smartest move that the Town of Pegram has made in the last 20 years. The Town should look to recover some of the $500,000 of legal fees spent on the failed lawsuit against the Town's hand-picked builder. There was little or no basis for the costly law-suit which was ill-advised and a near fraud on the Court. The Town claimed, in addition, over $300,000 in "engineering fees" The Town should also pick a new local engineer and look to employ other Town citizens for Town positions. The past Town Attorneys have put the Town against its own residents with unsound actions. Mayor Morehead was part of the problem but his appointment of Attorney Perry is a positive step in the right direction! Hind-sight is an easy guide to How Not to Run a Town.
