Cheatham County does not keep up the County roads and streets and the road department/commissioner should be held accountable for not doing his job. Cheatham County is a void between Davidson and Dickson Counties. Even their State Representatives fail the County. Drive up Beverly Hills where Rep. Philip Johnson lives. The fire hydrants do not work, the street has lumps of concrete, it far exceeds the 10% maximum slope, pavement is falling apart, driveway connections meet no standard, there is no organized government effort at any level so it is no wonder that employees and officials do what they please. Even the State DA is reluctant to do his sworn duty. Fortunately, most Cheatham County people do not know what good government is! Lying, cheating and stealing.

If you are in Waverly, you should work on your own problems. Even the County Officials admit that Cheatham is not much of a County. County Mayor Bill Orange said that Cheatham was an area that the County was formed from property that other counties did not want. One Cheatham Commissioner said that the citizens were a people who do not want any law. One of the lower section officials said that most of the population were civil war deserters and those who went over the ridge when they got out of the State Penitentiary. Give them a chance to get back on their feet! It is Matthew 25!
